Rifle Scopes badger base/mount rings not aligned?

just received their unimount, looks pretty solid. but where the rings connect, they don't match up. almost like the tops are 34mm and the bottoms are 35mm (this is for a 34mm vortex scope tube). but if you look at their website pics, there seems to be an offset there also. intentional? any issues? i don't have the scope yet to see how it fits but pretty sure there's going to be a gap somewhere.

They are designed like this. The split between the top and bottom halves is above the center line of the scope body so the bottom halves have to be cut with a 'U' shape. If they cut them perfectly circular, you wouldn't be able to drop a scope into them.

Yes, there wil be a gap between the two halves, tighten them so that the gap is even on both sides of the ring, tighten them properly to the correct torque spec (between 15-18 inch lbs), do not tighten them enough to fully close the gap on a scope, you would have to crush the tube for that to happen.
