I already have a Krieger barrel 1 in 9 twist.

The action will be a short action.

Trying to decide between 7-08 or .284 winchester.

Will use AW magazines in a manners mini-chassis.

Thanks for the help.

Also thinking of making this a switch barrel.

Would you go with 6.5 creedmoor or .260 remington? (I know that one has been beat to death) However I have been told .260 needs a long action with the 142 smk.

Only need a short action for 142s. I can almost guarantee you, you won't be able to load them longer than mag length before you deeply penetrate the lands.

Re: Badger M2008 caliber choice.

I have a few M2008's with 6.5 CM barrels and they're my favorite rifles to shoot by far. I can get 2885 fps with a 139 Scenar out of a 24.5 tube without any pressure. One advantage the 6.5 CM has over the 260 is the 30 degree shoulder which I have seen make my brass last longer compared to my experience with a 260, as well as it gets a more efficient burn.
