I am looking for a new action for a tactical bulid. I really like the looks of the Badger M2013. Anybody have on? One question is about the bolt lift.I know that it has a 60° throw and all but I have read about how hard it is to lift bolt. Compared to what? I have a Bat target action and a Rem 700 with a custom bolt. They both feel real good. Just wondering how the M 20132008pretty stacks up to the other custom actions.
Thanks

I have 2 m2008's. 1 has been tuned and feels great (like ball bearings)... My other is noticeably stiffer but I'm waiting to get her broke in (only 465 rds down the pipe with a few sessions of dry fire) before I start polishing the cocking ramp and changing out the FP spring. If Marty smoothed things up like how my .308 m2008 feels, it'll be a very popular action to build on. I personally have not had one light strike/FTF with either one.

my 2 cents.... I say go for it. It's a great action.

Ive got a mag long action m2013 in the locker. It seems to me like a pretty nice action. The bolt lift is a lot better then the m2008. They did a lot of work on improvements. If you have a thought that you might like the action, pick one up because you'll probably end up buying another one. There is one thing i will tell you about with these actions, they're built like a tank.

Glad to hear that you support this action. Built like a tank is what attracts me too. Would love to hear some more feedback....maybe the not so good features....if there are any. Does this action come with or without a black finish?

I've got the long action mag action. They come with a shiny new finish. To get them black you'll have to have do it yourself or 2nd party.

They feel a little tight to cock when you first get them. But when you put it in a stock, it actually feels very nice. The bolt rides smooth as glass in the action.

There has been two downsides with the action in my opinion, one is that it's been a little too heavy which has been addressed. The other is that it takes Remington triggers, I personally would like it to take Sako triggers but that is just me. I feel that having two rows of locking lugs and two recoil lugs is not necessary but that is neither a positive or negative really.

Just change out the bolt knob to something longer which adds leverage.

I popped a Phoenix Knob on my Badger and the bolt lift issue problem was solved
All though my bolt knob is slightly larger too in Dia @ 1.125" as opposed to their regular dia of .850" but regular length
So I dont know how much of a difference having a larger dia knob makes but I know adding length makes it easier for sure.
Smooth as glass I barley flick the the throw and it moves. I love my "Honey Badger"

Just my 2 cents. I love my M2013. Here is me running the bolt. The object is to hit 5 4-inch steel circles at different ranges from 80 to 150 yards in under 10 seconds. I haven't done yet but it's fun trying. I am trying to illustrate that while the bolt lift is heavier than other actions it wont slow you down one bit.
