If an action was made for a Badger M5 DBM, would it be compatible with a Surgeon bottom metal?

Do you mean the inletting in the stock that the DBM assembly drops in to? If so then no, the Surgeon unit will not drop right into a Badger M5 inlet without a little work.

Just action vs bottom metal, stock has to be inletted either way.

They both use AICS pattern magazines so yeah it should work with whatever action you've got.

Short action can work with any short action bottom metal, I don't know how a action could be made to work with only one type of bottom metal, either will work.

i don't yet have the action here and have never seen a Badger up close, so not sure if hole spacing would be the same.
