Normally I would try to minimize airing my stupidity in public. Not today. I ordered a Badger PSR Unimount which I attempted to level and install yesterday. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of dialing in 17 in/lbs into my torque wrench and starting spinning those screws in. NOTE... the torque spec is clearly defined as 15 in/lbs. As you might imagine, I proceeded to strip at least one of the threads in the mount.

Fast forward to today... I call up Badger to see if anything can be done. I end up explaining myself to Tyler who asked that I send some pictures of my handiwork. Fast forward again to this afternoon... I get off the phone with him a few minutes ago and much to my surprise they are comping me a mount and sending it out today. No cost to me... Nothing! Let me emphasize that it was my own inattention that caused this problem to start with. That said, what I lacked in attention yesterday, Badger made up the difference for today.

Thanks Badger Ordnance. Much appreciated!

Great customer service ..
but Wow you went only ( 2 ) in/Lb. over factory recommended tuque and it stripped . You mean you went ( 17 Ft/Lb ) by mistake not in/lb's ? . only going ( 2 in/Lb torque ) over and it strips, That sounds pretty pussy for screws and threads .
.

Yeah I don't know about torque wrenches for scope rings. I was torquing some with a borka and it seemed way too tight like it was going to strip so I went back to using the short end of the wrench and hand tightening the small screws.

If 17 in/lbs stripped the threads they probably wanted it back for inspection. Those threads should be able to take way more than that. I’ve always considered Badger to be top notch gear, glad to hear they are handling it he right way.

Badger is good people. I had a wararnty once and they handled it fast and professionally.

BTW all my Badger rings are torqued to 18 in/lbs. Always have been. I know others that use the same....

hate to tell you but theres no way in hell 2 inlb stripped that screw. you better have your torque wrench checked or make sure you weren't in ft lb....I torque my badger, spuhr and mpa mounts all to 20 in lb on top caps. good of badger to help ya though
