Re: Badger Ordnance M2008 .308 Build

I was with Steve to break this thing in and today we shot it and all I can say is WOW!! Fed it factory Black Hills and some of Steve's hand loads it was a hammer with all of it...

Re: Badger Ordnance M2008 .308 Build

Very nice set up!!

I was a little scared about the Badger (not enough to keep me away from it), from some of the reviews on here. After i got mine, all I can say is holy shit!!! I love it!! It isnt really pretty, it is kind of heavy, but it locks up like a brick shit house, has a 60 degree bolt through. Runs like it is on needle bearings. Ooh yeah, i can feed from AW mags, and i have a choice of what chassis/stock i want to use......perfect. The latter is one of the biggest reasons that kept me away from the AIAW, that and i really dont care for AI chassis.

That is an AI (AICS) chassis.

Re: Badger Ordnance M2008 .308 Build

I am extremely interested to hear more about that Badger M2008 Gen 2 action. Can't seem to find any reviews and some rifle builders I talked to said it wouldn't be available till after SHOT...

Re: Badger Ordnance M2008 .308 Build

Very nice rifle. You did it right as it is always cheaper to go first class the first time. I am wanting to use the Badger action and AICS on a couple of builds this year.

Re: Badger Ordnance M2008 .308 Build

Its an AICS Chassis but I guess I haven't seen the new skins...Did you use the skins that came with the chassis or did you get some kind of new AIAW skin for it...I looks like it doesn't need the trimming mine does around the bolt release or the bolt handle. Ive got a long action and I had badger take the Remington bolt recess metal out then I was was going to use the AIAW skins to give it a clean factory look... The pics are a little dark on my end but it looks good from what I can see

Re: Badger Ordnance M2008 .308 Build

The chassis came with the new skins(I just ordered it from Mile in the late summer) It lines up a lot closer than the old chassis do. My buddy has an AIAE MKIII with the new skins we tried them on my rifle and they worked with no modification. I'm planning on ordering a set of them. They look a touch cleaner they hide the Rem 700 bolt handle slot completely and they cleared the safety.

Re: Badger Ordnance M2008 .308 Build

crap, another action to look at. I was considering a Bernard and had forgotten about the m2008...decisions, decisions.

Nice looking rig...

Thanks!!
Stock feels great! Everyone says its a love hate with the AICS Chassis. I'm pretty open minded I also like the Mcmillan A4 and Manners T4 Stocks.

If you decided to go with the Badger M2008 action. I don't think you would be left wanting!! Very pleased with this one.
