Ballistic Calculator for Mil / Mil?

All of my experience is with Nightforce scopes in second focal plane and MOA. I have been very successful using the Hornady Ballistic Calculator to get a starting dope chart which I then use as a guide and adjust the target turret drops to the actual shooting results.

So I just got my first scope in Mill / Mill and FFP. Is there a free and easy to use ballistic calculator that will give me estimated drops I can dial on my target turret? I know I can input my velocity, bc, and get inches of drop then back calculate for mils somehow. Just wondering if there is a program that does it for me?

"Shooter" in the app store is only $10. Lots of people use it. TRASOL is a little more. Strelok, Applied ballistics, etc, lots of apps are available that are free too, just do a Web search.

just about every ballistics calc will output in MILS, just check the settings and switch it over.

Also, what is an easy way to precisely measure "sight height". I have just been using a measuring tape on center of bore to center of optic lens.

yeah....thats pretty much how all of us do it....no need to over think this.

Strelok Pro works great. It has a truing feature which is nice if you don't have a chrono. It's easy to use too. It's something like $14.

I don't like Strelok because it "trues" the velocity, not the ballistic coefficient. Fine if you don't actually know what the velocity is and just need a rough estimate, but if you do, it's the b.c. that needs to be adjusted for fine tuning.

Strelok Pro gives you the choice of truing bc or Fps. It's a good app and it was 12.99 (or thereabouts) at Google play

As someone else mentioned, It trues BC as well. When you go into trajectory validation, you can choose speed or BC. Did you try the free version? The paid version has more features.

They must have updated it then, I have an older Iphone that hasn't been getting updates for the past year or so. I have the paid version on iOS (labeled iStrelok on mine) and it does not have any bc truing options, only velocity.

Is Strelok the only calculator available for a mil/mil drop chart?

Certainly not, most of the decent calculators will give you mil/mil data, and there are quite a few good ones. I'm partial to iSnipe on the iPhone because of the large database of loads and bullets with Litz ballistic coefficients, but there are plenty of other good options too.
