Ballistic Calculator Help

Hi Hide,

Sorry if this is an ignorant question, but I'm having a tough time finding the right ballistic calculator to download. I am primarily using TreMor 3 and Minox MR5 reticles. Can someone recommend an app that covers both? I mistakenly purchased the Strelok Pro app and then realized that they do not offer Horus based reticles (TreMor 3). Thanks for your help.

I’ve got the StrelokPro and you can use a SKMR3 for a Kahles as a proxy for a mil Christmas tree, BUT, doing so doesn’t teach you much. Use the StrelokPro to get a mil based solution, locate the coordinates in the Horus, place em on the target and send it down range. With the T3 reticle, you can use the wind dots for horizontal offset.

It’s a blessing that StrelokPro doesn’t have those reticle because it will make you “think the reticle / think in mil or angular correction”

If you are dialing, it doesn’t make much difference.

So you are suggesting to use a base MIL-Dot reticle for calculations and read the T3 reticle for holds? That makes sense, but I was hoping to find an app with the T3 for references.

According to Strelok's developer, he had to get rid of the Horus reticles, because Horus threatened a copyright claim.

Strelok Pro comes in an iOS version. You should be able to find it in the Apple store.

no. ballistics programs (outside of strelok) dont offer reticles. and they shouldnt.

they give elevation and wind values. dial and/or hold as you please. or learn to use the T3 the way it's meant to be used

Since initially posting this, I have shot both rifles with the T3 reticles and have found a few things. First, after zeroing both rifles at 100 yards (7mm rem mag and a .223 trainer), I realize I have not needed to dial since. While I'm still trying to figure out the holds on both, it's coming along. I have also been spotting while others are zeroing their rifles, and it seems to help both parties. I initially thought the reticle would be too busy, but it really isn't.

Applied Ballistics does have the Tremor2, H58, and H59. Ballistic AE has a feature where you can import from your photos. Also it looks like Horus has an app on the way but not yet available.

It sounds like you may have it figured out anyways. You could always make a "range card" and mark up drop data on a picture of the T3. The problem with making a range card is that as your atmospherics change so does your drop. Any ballistic calculator will give you the generic info for your load and you just have to make it work with your reticle.
