Ballistic software- Sight hight question.

Have an input for sight height on a couple of ballistic software entries. Simple with a horizontal mount or flat rail, BUT what height do you use for a rail with 20,30,40 MOA? As the rail and scope are canted do you input objective height, reticle height, centre of scope etc.
Has anyone got a definitive answer.

Thanks

Re: Ballistic software- Sight hight question.

the cant doesn't matter, you simply measure center of bore to center of scope tube.

It's not that picky a number so you don't have to be much better than 1/4". Sure the more accurate you are, is always better, but it is just center to center. Bore to Tube.

Don't get wrapped around it,

Thanks,
That was my thought too, I'd talked about it and because the height difference on like a 20MOA rail is so slight we came to the same conclusion that as long as we are within a reasonable tolerance the difference had no real bearing, but I like the measure twice cut once approach.
