Maybe it is politically motivated....but I bet the US Treasury or IRS don't say no to any tax revenue they get from the sale of firearms/weapons of any sort, issuing of paperwork/licences etc. or any of the other ways they squuze the money out of your pocket on anything to do with shooting sports?

I did not want to post this in my original response because I did not want to detract from the McMillan family's post, but two days before this was even posted, my wife and I signed the docs to re-finance our home. It was not due to a better rate (it was already great), the sole purpose was because that pole smoking piece of shit, heretofore known as BofUnA, bought our original mortgage loan from the company we started out with. It was a principle issue alone, nothing more.
I told you folks, my family and I hate that fucking place. Hopefully that demonstrates it enough! Now, if they buy this one out, I may stroke out, but I'll just do it again in another two years.

When I was closing out my BOA account, of course the teller asked my why I was closing my accounts after 8 years with the bank. I told that I found thier business practices shady and I didn't want to have any association with thier bank any more. I haven't looked back. That bank sucks balls. Plus USAA can use ANY ATM in the U.S. with out any fees.

The wife just called and closed her Bass Pro credit card account after I told her about this. Has Bass Pro been getting any shit over this? I for one won't shop with them any longer if they continue to do business with BofA...

Glad I left BoA years ago. They charged fees on tops of fees. They tried to charge me a fee for going into their branch offices too much because of the type of account I had. They also charged fees for taking my own money out. That was just too much. Fck them.

Just applied for an NRA VISA
I just applied (online) for an NRA VISA card. The online application page is http://www.nraaccounts.com/nra/. The process ended noting 2-4 weeks to receive notice of acceptance by mail. The only question now is whether to shred the BofA card now or wait until I get the NRA card.
BTW, BEFORE I applied for the NRA card, I confirmed with the bank that handles the NRA card – First National Bank of Omaha – that they are neither owned by nor in any way affiliated with BofA.

Letters are influential, even in politics. Spoke with a senator and found it shocking how few letters they actually receive on important pieces of legislation, few enough they actually have time to read them, often less than 10. Since then I take time to write.

No offense to any present company, but I thought this was something everyone knew.
Citibank is owned by Cerberus, who also owns the Freedom Group. I could be wrong, but there's something about that company that just isn't right. Again, I could be completely wrong about them, but I just get a "wolf in sheep's clothing" feel about the entire structure of that company!
The only bank that I know of that is free of political ties is US Bancorp a.k.a. US Bank. They do not have any private holdings companies, that I know of.

I know a lot of the mid-level mgt at BofA at Tryon. Sheep... all of them Sheep. Looks like they could double for a Sears ad or a Coca-Cola Promotion.
Have no clue of what they are working for. I have shedded my corporate bonds (next week...) and no more will I put them on.
All companies are becoming more and more like this.. they snuggle up to the throne (Duke Energy, GE, etc...) and they become defacto executive branches without laws.. they have "policies".

When I saw this post and read BofA attitude toward mcmillan I was set back. I pulled out my platinum bass pro card I use all the time to get reward points to buy all kinds of sporting goods including ammo, reloading components etc. Kind of ironic. And to think I have a stock on order with them and a card on file to pay for it! Guess what card! Guess I better check on the stock and how to pay for it now!

I rejoiced when I closed all my BoA accounts in early 2008 and transferred them to Fifth Third.

Just saw this on Fox News - glad it's getting more coverage.
I'll be moving all my personal and business accounts out of there this summer. It may not be much, but it will be a million dollars worth of cash flow their sorry asses will not have access to.

BofA can suck it! I moved to USAA a while ago for all my banking needs, CC's, Loans and Insurance. I also use a small local bank for quick cash needs.

I closed both my accounts with BofA a few years back right before the 2008 overseas conribution fiasco.
I'm surprised 2A businesses & gun owners still have accounts with them.
It will take a couple more publicized incidents like this one to get people to act.
I'd love it if all our Hide vendors stated they had stopped doing business with BofA.

I've handled all my banking and insurance with USAA for years and have zero complaints.
Late last year an old friend passed, and in my screwy state of mind I overdrafted my checking account about a dozen times. When I explained the situation to USAA, they refunded the overdraft charges...every last one. They told me to take as long as I needed to get the account out of the red. What other bank does this?
Another time I was double-charged for a handgun, and as soon as I told the rep it was a Sig, the conversation turned into a half-hour long discussion on Sig pistols.
As for BofA, I've always made it a point to steer clear of them, but will definitely remember this. McMillan and BofA are really about as different as a company can get.

i too got rid of them ages ago, as their fees seemed to grow exponentially , like someone else said, even after i closed my account, they continued to charge me late fees, overdraft fees, etc. I bank with m&t now, but don`t see any bank as being that much better than the next

My wife scheduled to pay off our balance on our BoA Visa this past week. I have never had any trouble with them and always had good rates. Because of this I was toying with keeping this card active for online purchases and such...guess what. As of this second the wife has been given instructions that when the balance is cleared to cancel the card post haste. They will also be told in great detail why we are cancelling our card and will ever strive in the furure to avoid any commerce with their company.
