Barometer / Altimeter watch ..... ?

Re: Barometer / Altimeter watch ..... ?

Its not a watch but its small and compart like one. Check out the Brunton ADC Pro. IT shows everything you want and even Density Altitude if you want to simplify things.

what model of pathfinder do you have ?

Re: Barometer / Altimeter watch ..... ?

I picked up a pathfinder about a month ago it was the solar powered version. I looked around and got it for like $170. It works great the elevation can be a little off but that is expected since you can't enter an altimeter correction into the watch. Love the watch and according to the manual it can run 6 months in complete darkness.

I have suunto core, and it's most certainly waterproof. Hell I've gone diving with it!

One thing it lacks it battery life though. About 6-8 months...

Oh and the compass points only north. I have to send it in for warranty.

It's very sleek compared to a pathfinder though.

Re: Barometer / Altimeter watch ..... ?

I picked up a Casio Riseman 2 weeks ago, ended up returning it due to the fact it wouldnt pick up the atomic feed. Tried to feed manually to no avail.Im looking for the same type of watch but now questioning the reliability of the temp, altimeter etc. The pathfinder series use similar internals\sensors I just liked the size and weight of the smaller Riseman.

Re: Barometer / Altimeter watch ..... ?

I have had the Casio Pathfinder PAW1500T for a few years and would buy a replacement the same day if I ever lost it. All the features you are looking for plus a compass, solar powered and atomic sync. Mine syncs nightly without fail from inside a drawer. I now have a half dozen other watches gathering dust.

Re: Barometer / Altimeter watch ..... ?

Pathfinders are outstanding. I have the PAW-1300T, worn it every day for the last 2.5 years in Afghanistan, and it still functions and looks great. Sensors are accurate (off the wrist for temp) and there is only one tiny scratch in the crystal even with as much as I abuse it.

I recommend sticking with the slim line of the Pathfinders as they're big enough to start with, and also don't even think of not getting solar power. The sensors are battery hogs, so you'll need it. My old battery model Pathfinder needed replacing every 18 months, and that is my biggest dislike of the Suunto too.

Everything else is personal preference, but the titanium bands rock.
