On a 6.5 creedmoor what length do you prefer between 24 or 26 and why?

I have a 24". I don't know ballistically how advantages a 26" would have been, but for mobility/handling, I much prefer the 24". I can't imagine the 26" would have made all that much difference unless you're really trying get every extra yard out of the caliber. It's a new caliber to me, though. I'm sure others with more experience will chime in with data for the ballistics.

Distance will be the deciding factor, but a 24" will get you to 1000yds with ease.

I have a 6.5 with a 28" barrel. Considering cutting it back to 26-24".

26" is great out to 1200yrds. Inside of 1k and most of your shots inside of 800, I'd have no doubt that 22-23" bbl would be awesome for the Creedmoor.

What did you end up going with? My 6.5 is with the smith getting bobbed back to 24"

AO is going to cut it 24 or 241/2.It is a fluted barrel so we are waiting on the stock to come in to see how much of the shank is going to be cut off.
