I'm looking at one online in .50 cal for $3,800. I'm a single loader kinda guy. I have plenty of my own land and this is a rifle that I would just love to own. I'm sure I already know the answer to this, but most rifle ranges, even long ranges, will probably not allow the use of this rifle will they? Some do and some don't, and I'm not exactly sure of the reasons why.

Re: Barret M107 Single Loader

One long local range- 1000 yards- won't allow 50's because of the long range potential of the 50. (Over the low mountain backstop are some buildings).
Also, they have had bullets bounce back to the firing line from well over 100 yards away when fired at targets at the closer -100-200 yard - ranges, even with properly constructed backstops/traps.
I asked the Range Master once about it as I had interest at that time. I even asked about using frangible bullets, which thay hadn't heard of, and they didn't want to get into policing every round of ammo fired.
At least those are the answers to your question as I have been told in the past. There may be even more liability issues now.

And I can bet there are. That's cool. I have my own land. Wouldn't mind taking it to the range for a little show and tell though.

I'll keep those points in mind while firing. I don't want to pay almost 4 grand to kill someone.

Ya its really hit and mis the the ranges that allow them. If you have access to an outdoors spot you should conider it, but if you only use ranges, then defenitely do your research.
