I have an aac cyclopse suppressor and recently acquired barret m82a1 and have searched the world wide web high and low and with reading the bad news saying the m82a1 should not be suppressed and the m107a1 can I was hoping for some first hand knowledge of why and if any has suppressed the 82a1 and what is different in the guts of the m107a1 making it a better suppressor host

I don't necessarily have first hand knowledge but I remember reading some threads and watching a video that the M107A1 had tweaks internally, primarily with the bolt carrier I believe, to handle the increased back pressure and velocity with the suppressor attached. That being said I found some threads that mention removing the accelerator rod if you need to suppress a M82A1. Use this information at your own risk.

Yes the issue is from how the barrel moves back and drives the bolt, the increased pressure from the can will break your shit. The changes to the M107’s operating system allows suppressed operation as well as other improvements (mainly accuracy).

Basically if you want to run a suppressed 50, you need a different gun.

Personally I’d buy a Cadex Tremor or better yet wait for the new AI rifle that’s coming out later this year. Barrett’s kinda suck if your target is smaller than the braid side of a barn.

Thanks for the info fellas I do understand the accuracy issue with the semi barrets as I have 338 lapua and 300 norma mag for presicion elr i owned 2 McMillantac50 about years back and I bought aac cyclopse and the canned up 50 bmg is pure punishment to say the least sold them for shits and gigs to try other things I acquired this m82a1 in a trade and was wanting to use the cyclopse suppressor knock the dust of it as it has had no play in years . Guess I need an m107a1
