Barrett MRAD

I just started a MRAD thread in this forum a week ago. I haven't shot mine yet, with it being winter here in the rocky mountains and all. I bought one in 300 win mag and I plan on a 338 lapua, 260, 308 barrels. Its a boat anchor, but solid as the day is long. I'm impressed!! Check out my thread you may have more luck if you ask the German? Don't know what caliber he has.

I just got mine yesterday in 300 win mag and with a 24" carbon fiber barrel, I will be getting my Steiner T5Xi 5 - 25x56 scope tomorrow and I hope to shoot it soon.

its a decent rifle, trigger is pretty good if you like single stages...it handles the recoil impulse of 338 well (especially suppressed)...nice and smooth...barrel swap leaves a little on the table, needing to swap bolt heads even for similar bolt face calibers and all...barrel shanks being larger than standard is a pain for rebarrels...bolt operation is smooth and fast...extractor design is a weak point with the little spring wire...i sold it and went to an AI as i mostly run short action cartridges

Morgan, made an excellent and very accurate statement. I have found that it is an easy rifle to shoot well. Mine was an earlier one so when the conversions came out I had to get an additional bolt because I could not use the conversion bolt face on my bolt. This makes it a bit quicker for me to switch between a secondary caliber and .338, even so the changeover is more work than an AI. The rifle has a lot of, well momentum. What I mean I tend to shoot it in the barrel that is on it as it is a bit of a PITA to change over.
