Is anyone using BAT actions for hunting/tactical applications? In the past, I was told their "clearances" were too tight. But it seems like the only clearance people are really referring to is bolt body to action. Here is what I have gathered on that:
1. BAT Varmint Repeater clearance .0025" Their standard bench-rest clearance is .0015"
2. Surgeon Clearance .0035" tapering down to .0025" when it goes into battery.
On the surface, the BAT actions would not appear to be too tight. What do you think?
Also, my gunsmith said he could take another .001" off to all me to cerakote the action. What do you think about this? I asked BAT if they could take an extra .001 off and they were not too receptive.
Thanks
