Battery powered weed eater?

I've had an Echo 30cc two cycle trimmer for about 15 years now. Zero issues, lots of power. I get the "lithium battery trimmer" if you don't have a need for an arsenal of 2-cycle chainsaws and blowers. Just dump the fuel at the end of the season. Most of my Stihl and Echo saws are 10 yrs old, all run fine, my property is full of trees.
Use ethanol free gas and no more vapor locks when the tool is hot it’s better for the equipment and no gumming or rotting carb parts. I have a lawn service and started using it 7 years ago .

Yes, I agree hard to get more American than 12,000rpms of screaming 2 stroke. But ethanol fuel and me being lazy I do like my battery one. Still have the Husky 325 for when the weed need an asswhippin.

Yes gas is so shitty these days that I run True Gas or the Stihl premix in the two stroke tools.

Expensive but as infrequently as I need to buy it I can do it.

Usually I pick up a can at Ace when I can combine some coupons to make it cheaper.

The chainsaw, blower and whacker run great on that stuff.

I usually just go get 100LL from the airport for the small equipment. The 2 stroke oil does not like to stay suspended in the Ethanol. It pisses me off to pay $20 a gallon for the premixed gas. One of the power sports places locally used to sell race gas by the gallon, but the city FD popped them for pumping it on site. Now they only sell the 5 or 55 gallon containers.

I have a kobalt trimmer and like it a lot. Balance is weird compared to a gas trimmer but much quieter much cleaner and runs hard. I’m switching all my yard tools over to battery at this point. Have kobalt trimmer, kobalt 80v chainsaw, and ryobi push mower. My husky lawn tractor still has its place but the battery push is a joy to use.

One thing I will ask about weed eaters.....

For the love of Christ could a friggen good string feeder be developed?

I have a Stihl 91 or something like that.

Broke it out yesterday for first use this year.

Feeder was giving me fits.

Edging the plant beds kept having the string break off and had to take the head off to rewire.

Got to be me doing something wrong.

Redmax makes a good head. It might fit stihl, I'll try to remember to see if it fits my stihl.

Finally...😆 I can’t believe there are ‘Hiders using battery Kobalt china trash.....
Sthil, gas-powered commercial grade, for when you need to get stuff done.. An O46 Magnum w/ a dual port muffler, for instance, allows you to scare the neighbors, and boost testosterone levels, while simultaneously retaining your man-card..it will even sometimes cause your wife to strip and search for her high heels ( if the kids are still napping)

No, they are not running at 25K RPM. They are variable speed and may have the capability of running at 25K RPM, depending on trigger position, available maximum voltage, design and manufacturer's specific characteristics.

Take two identical motors. One is connected to a power source that is higher voltage than the second identical motor. The mechanical loads are fixed/the same. The motor that is powered from the higher voltage source can run at a higher speed if commanded/higher voltage applied. This also assumes that the motor's torque requirements are less than or equal to the motor's capacity as well as the power source's ability to deliver current (produce torque). ie; the motor is not overloaded mechanically.
Yes, torque is proportional to current in both/either case(s). And yes, maximum attainable motor speed is dependant on number of poles, maximum applied voltage and winding design.

They do use 25k rpm motors that are going into a multi-speed planetary gear box. 2500 rpm drill? Simply 10:1 in high gear. People have torn these down and checked, the brushless stuff is screaming.

You have your theory crossed. You can spin a DC motor faster with higher voltage. AC motors are fixed voltage and you use variable frequency control to change speed if desired. Driving an AC motor with variable voltage will result in the magic smoke getting out.
They can get away with this on the lithium because the batteries will cut out at low voltage. You really only have about 4v worth of drop in an 18v pack from 100% to dead.

Either way, complicated voltage switching batteries have no business in construction.

I bought an EGO weed eater a couple of years ago. They changed the electric lawn equipment category. I since have bought a blower, and hedge trimmer. Excellent products and their customer service/product support is also excellent.

Bought the mower last year and was surprised. When/if I need to replace trimmer, blower, etc., it will be EGO. I most enjoy the noise level.

I bought a Honda mower in 1993. Ran it until 2014 or 15, sold it in running condition for $100 and bought a new one. Replaced the carburetor twice in five years. Used ethanol-free only, changed oil and tuned every year. Shut-off the fuel and ran dry after every use. Ran stabilizer thru the carb and drained at the end of the season. When it became hard to start...again, I canned it and went battery.

Bought My Lady a Mastercraft 20v weed whacker for Christmas last year. She wanted one. Came as a set with a leaf blower. She uses the leaf blower a LOT more in the Winter for blowing snow instead of having to shovel it. (when it's cold here, the snow can be light and fluffy)

Weed whacker worked good all summer, and did everything it was asked to do. "It's light, it's easy, gets the job done, and the whole yard can be done on less than one battery." We have a number of 'gas powered whackers' and they've all been shelved.

And there's no cords to have to deal with, like in the old days.

I have a E-go battery operated 18inch chainsaw that far exceed my expectations
The thing is truly fantastic im not sure if they have the tool your looking for or not
But would definitely recommend the brand

As I know CRAFTSMAN V20 is a good choice for a battery-powered weed eater.
In this website, you can check detailed information about this weed eater.
It has an impressive battery with two-speed settings, a push-button feed, and an adjustable pole. There is an auxiliary handle to make it more convenient to operate.
