Battle/War/Utility Belt Advice Question

I am looking for a good multi purpose belt to run some gear on.

I intend to use it for long range practice/competition and future 3 gun or pistol competitions. I don't want anything fancy and just want to run the bare minimum, my main goal is to avoid carrying a backpack which slows me down when I need to get ready between relays.

I have looked at the ATS belt and really like it because of the price and great reviews, but I'm not sure which size to get. I wear 30" pants so with a belts and clothes it seems as though the medium (30-34) would fit.

My question is where do yo normally wear these types of belts? On the waist? Hips? Can you wear these types of belts with a hiking backpack?

I've also looked into the HSGI belt, but I have the same questions about size and that one seems too wide.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm new to all this and pictures or links would also be really helpful.

Re: Battle/War/Utility Belt Advice Question

Back in the day, the 'belt' was part of a system the slang term for was Junk Bearing Equipment or JBE. These days a vest would carry more junk, more comfortably, and for a longer period of time.

Now I never used the term battle belt or war murse- try LBE, JBE or harness.

Good luck

Re: Battle/War/Utility Belt Advice Question

I have used the TAG and now use the ATS belt. It is lower in profile and thinner all the way around. Just run a regular rigger's belt through it and your done.

It is open across the bottom to use drop leg platforms or holsters without cutting a slot in the belt.

Depending on how much you carry on it, you WILL need suspenders. Check out the ATS for the lowest profile or the Blue Force Gear ones with the elastic.

Cut

Re: Battle/War/Utility Belt Advice Question

If you want to go the Molle belt route I would go with SO Tech. Extremely comfortable and it has inner Velcro so you can wear it with an inner belt and it wont ride up or down.

Otherwise I would go with a wilderness belt but it might not hold all the gear you need.

This set up is crap, and didnt work for shit down at the Bash. The gauntlets also were in the way getting in and out of the helo.

Re: Battle/War/Utility Belt Advice Question

I finally finished setting up my belt for BLM and the range. I am going to give it a go this weekend and see what I like and dislike about it.

It's totally a ninja thing since I'm not MIL or LE. Click on the link for descriptions. What do you all think?

Not surpised with the smart ass replies here, it's not the right crowd to be asking about tactical gear like a war belt.

This is a good read, also the same thread over at AR15 will offer more ideas.

Between those two threads you will see everything single option out there!

So you wear all that, including a "police" radio while walking around on BLM ground?

Re: Battle/War/Utility Belt Advice Question

The radio is for setting up targets. I can talk to whomever is setting up targets since I have a LRF or whatever. I have the radio from work and the extensions helps when I have the radio in the truck.

Since when are two way radios "police" radios?
