BDU's vs. ACU's?

Re: BDU's vs. ACU's?

BDU's and ACU's do not have anywhere close to the same pattern or color.

Re: BDU's vs. ACU's?

I would assume they are just calling them the wrong names.

My labels for each picture are correct.

Air Force also has a new pattern, digital tiger stripe with , greyish blue, sage and tan.

Eddie </div></div> i think i got it figured out. they are calling it ACU, BDU etc based on the style of uniform. They have different color's for each style of uniform it looks like.

Thanks Knight and Crazy. I think I got it figured out. Where is the best place to order and what are some decent brands? I like the ATAC and the Multi-cam. These will be use for hunting Mississippi whitetails in the delta swamps.

Re: BDU's vs. ACU's?

Common misconception, ACU is the name of the UNIFORM, not the pattern, same as BDU.

ACU= Army Combat Uniform and its different in its style and features than the BDU

BDU= Battle dress uniform.

ACU's mainly come in the UCP pattern. Universal Camoflage Pattern. And whatever they call Multi cam now.

BDU's came in Woodland, 3 color desert, and the old desert long ago.

ACU and BDU are just types, the patterns are endless and who knows whats next. Being a wearer for 18 years, I like the BDU pants style better than the ACU style, but the ACU top is a great design, except all the velcro. Also wear the A2CU and FRACU, and the FRACU has some changes in the pants that use buttons again on the pockets, and I like them better. The A2CU is the flight Uniform and Its ok, but I hate all the damn zippers and lack of back pockets. And the slash pockets ( air force gloves lol ) have velcro holding them closed, annoying but a "safety" feature for aviation. I got into a small bike accident and the zippers cut my leg up pretty bad.

Oh and Transinator, just hit up ebay and get the real multi cams. pretty good pricing and pretty durable. An added bonus, they are treated with Premithin and being in the swamps your going to like that.
