Rifle Scopes BEAST Reticles

Re: BEAST Reticles

You have just discovered the biggest limitation to this otherwise progressive new scope.

Re: BEAST Reticles

MOAR because I currently own a 5.5-22x56 with the same reticle and the only thing it's lacking is being a FFP reticle. I'm an moa guy and it's the perfect reticle.

Re: BEAST Reticles

I would go the MIL-R route but only because the MLR2 is not offered.

I really had to spend some time looking at the MIL-R to understand it. I don't care for the mixed use of 1/2, 1/4, & 1/8 mil subtensions - it could get confusing in a hurry. And I don't understand why they only use half a subtension in the horizontal but a full subtension in the vertical. I'm sure they had their reasons and maybe I just need to be educated. But I do like the setup on the lower right which I assume is for "milling" targets.

But they listen to their customers so I expect this to change.

Re: BEAST Reticles

I too am very surprised they do not yet have the MLR 2.0 listed. However, if the Mil r looks as good through the scope as the MOAR, it should be a great option.

Re: BEAST Reticles

I'm with Killshot, MOAR. I'm an MOA guy too and love that reticle. A lot easier for me to use than the NP-R1 or NP-R2. I currently have it on a 5.5-22x.

Re: BEAST Reticles

I would be reticent to go with the MIL-R reticle, the spaces to denote fractional mils on the windage axis seems more awkward than simple 1/2-mil tics, like a Gen 2 mil-dot. On the other hand, I haven't tried it and it might be excellent in actual practice. I'd like to see a P4F or H2CMR style reticle.

Although all my other scopes have reticles in mils, I like the simplicity of the MOAR reticle and might go for one in the ATACR scope. I think IPHY are better units than MOA since they simplify range calculations.
