How do you all clean your NODS and laser devices just wondering I see alot of LIKE NEW kit around and little dirt or abuse to surface/bodys/

My Kit WAS Dirty after last nights 8 Hour Op in the field,Compressed are didnt even come close to getting them clean,I threw it all in the sink and it stll looks used abused..

I here alot of we use our kit and train hard,But I see pics of clean staged field use pics..

Lets see beat on real world pics of Kit here.. No POSERS or sales shit..

I always used a paint brush. If we were going to be inspected anytime soon it got q-tipped.

I NEVER put it in the sink.

Rarely were we ever crawling in the mud with out NV. If we were doing anything like that, we zipped it back into it's case to protect it.

Due to the size of the SIMRAD it stayed off the rifle until we got into position.

Somewhere around here I have an old pic of me and another Marine with our PVS-4's that have some serious field wear on them. It's in the gallery if you care to search for it.

You know what I paid for my PVS-22 OSTI MilSpec unit.
NO WAY I'm draggin' it through the mud, except for when it's a two way range out there.
Now my PVS-14, it's amazing how little wear it has, despite years of use. I have replaced the battery cap, broken when the cord snarled a branch early one morning.

Yea I here ya,This KIT isnt cheap. It can be usefull or not.

I swung my wilcox L4 in the up position and could not deploy it back down it locked up from Dirt..Now I know if its in that bad a AO then just leave it down and dont take the chance.
If I hadnt used it in that condition/AO , wouldnt have known it could happen. Glad it wasnt 2 way day. I could have been KIA with Kit that should have helped win the fight..Not die in fright.
