I tried the search, couldn't figure out how to limit it to just a few forums and the search terms are pretty generic, so...

Anyone bed the factory plastic stock on a savage 17 hmr rifle (or any of their rimfires with the cheap stock)? Any improvements worth the effort?

The accuracy of my 17 isn't bad now, but it does seem somewhat random at times and I thought maybe it's me twisting the stock while on the bench/bipod/bag. I have a bedding kit but have been afraid to screw something up and don't want to risk it if there is no noticeable improvement.

It's injection molded thermo-plastic.
I've seen a couple attempts using carbon fiber arrow shafts
and epoxy bedding compound, another using fiberglass strands
mixed with bondo. I decided to attempt something silly-er on my tupperware stock.
I went to heavy metal...no stock flex now.

seriously, lose the tupperware, spend the money, get a real stock.

I have a boyd's tacticool as well, just didn't like the feel of the gun in the field with that stock on it (way too bulky for my purposes) which is why I thought about tweaking the factory stock.

There was a guy at the range this weekend with a home made all metal stock for a .22 savage, looked very cool as well.

I'd scrap the idea of the factory stock unless you have zero funds to apply towards a new stock or never will have the funds to apply.

If you're interested, do some searching and you can find the AICS stocks for the Savage MKII...several others available too.
