So Cal
I know there have been some heated discussions on whether or not to bed a Manners mini-chasis or not. However, after shooting about 1500-2000 rounds through my rifle I have come to the conclusion I would like to bed mine. Please don't advise me not to do it I am going to anyway. I don't care about resale value, defeating the purpose of a chassis or whether or not someone else's shoots bug holes without it. I personally want to do this to my rifle for my own peace of mind.

Is there anyone that has skim bedded theirs that has pictures or advice. (I searched but only found the arguments pro or con). I have bedded other rifles but none with the aluminum bedding block (chassis). Is there a big difference or should I just do it basically the same as any other stock? If you have any good tips or honest advice on the process I would greatly appreciate it. I can afford to have it done by a gunsmith and would rather do it that way but don't want to wait. Plus, I have been successful at bedding other rifles in the past. Thanks in advance.

GAP only beds the lug for the rifles they build with the Manner's mini-chassis. You might want to start there first....
Either way, I'd love to see photos of the entire process that you go though as I have a mini-chassis on the way.
Unfortunately, I haven't seen any photos either...

I think it came out good. Here are some pics for you Thrusty.

Can't wait to get to the range and test her out.

The reason I bedded it was because I don't like 1" groups at 100 and that's what I was getting. I could put a couple on top of each other but then always had these mysterious flyers. Thought it was me for the longest. Checked scope, mounts, base, ammo and a really nice guy at the range that shot it and had the same results suggested bedding it. Because it was a chassis system I never thought of that but it seemed to help. Can't say I didn't have any flyers but it did tighten it up. Worth it? To me yes.

Nice! I wasn't sure how big the squares were. I've got a Remington 700 ADL .30-06 and I'm trying to figure out what I want to do with it. I get 1MOA at 100 on a good day and am thinking I want to put a decent light weight stock on it. The manners mini chassis with T4 or T4A seemed like a good choice but I don't want to sink that kind of money into it if it's not going to yield better accuracy.

If you have the factory stock the Manners will make a definite difference in accuracy. Many people do not need to bed theirs to get the most out of them. I am not one of them but am not complaining. I love the stock and didn't mind the little bit of extra work it took to get a little more from it (actually enjoyed it). Good luck.

Im broke so just finished bedding my brand new SPS Tactical houge stock. Havent even fired a round so there will be no before and after, but atleast whilst im learning I will know if its me or the rifle. Id say its worth the $30 and days work just for the confidence boost amd practice.

The problem with the mini chassis stocks is the tang area. If you tighten the rear action screw it trys to pull the rear of the action down since the screw is to the rear of where the v block contacts the action. If you have a non bedded mini chassis it will in my experience be very sensitive to the action screw torque values. The easiest solution is to bed only the lug and tang area. hope this makes sense.
