First of all, thanks for having me. I have purchased a Savage Axis 2 in 6.5cm, heavy barrel, and accu trigger in hopes to learn this new hobby. I have always been into pistol and shotguns mostly, so I have a lot to learn with this new venture. After I get everything set up, I would like to get out to some ranges in the ky/tn areas.

welcome from eastern kentucky. in days when I wasn't so swamped with work/family/chief of fd/etc I went with a group to hazard to a range without to 1500. If you are in this area let me know...

I’m actually closer to bowling green, but have to been to hazard several times for work. It’s definitely beautiful land. Is the range public?

I’m not sure if you’ve heard of it or not, but about 30 minutes from Bowling Green is Rock Castle Shooting center in Edmonson county. It’s 150ish a year for memebership, but I think it’s 40 a day for non-members. I’m pretty sure they have a range out to 1600 yards for members or non-members accompanied by members.

Yes! I have been looking at it, and more than likely will join. It’s about a 45min trip for me, but the closest rifle range to me.

Welcome to the hide man!

It is always good to see new folks take up the art.

My foray into long range shooting is done with black powder cartridge rifles. Lever action, rolling block, falling block, etc... Now I am thinking about getting a tacticool bolt action. A Remington 700 platform is what I am considering.
