I can't find if there is any difference between the M1 and M2 besides the forarm. Does anyone know?

My understanding is they made some improvements in the barrel, offer different choke options, different stock. Typical model upgrade. I don't think you can really go wrong with either. I have an M1 Super 90 that's almost as old as me, and i'll take it over the Benelli M4 any day of the week.

I love my M1S90! It's an early one so I can ghost load/float a round on the carrier w/o having to mod the bolt.

I have shot thousands of rounds through both. The recoil is less with the m2 but not terribly so much that I would shy away from a m1. If your budget allows I would get the m2. For a few hundred less you can get a nice used m1. Both are reliable and light.
