Ok, I got a swept back handle and a new knob for thus from Area 419 and I cannot figure out how to remove the bolt handle. I tried tape and pliers but probably scratched the thing. Sucker is on there. Help please! Thank you
Nice rifle otherwise

Here is a video...that makes it look so easy.

I bet they already had it loosened before shooting the video. Try a little heat on the bolt handle...I would bet it has an unreasonable amount of red or blue loctite on it.

Let me know how it goes...I've been looking at replacing my bolt handle also.

Sorry to come into an old thread. I just got a new B14 HMR and don't like the bolt. I want a short handle, traditional round knob, small size knob, and swept back handle. I don't like big tactical style bolts. What are my options? I feel mislead by the ads claiming it is a Rem700 clone when clearly is it not at all. Only triggers appear to be the aftermarket drop in options available for these guns. I'd have bought a 700 to begin with but I'm left handed and my options were spread thin.

On my b14r, I put my bolt in a soft vice and wrapped some drywall tape around the bolt knob. I used pliers and twisted the bolt knob off and replaced it with the round knob from Bergara and love it. All of my rifles use round knobs.

I use a mini butane torch to heat up the just enough to make removal easier. They use some very good thread locker, I use vibratite compound so I can switch back from cold winter to warm summer. I had a tendency to hit the trigger when I drop the longer bolt in the cold so need to drop back into the original bolt. 4 years and no issues at all.

I contacted Bergara and they recommended I use heat bc it's loctited. But that still doesn't fix the issue of the handle being long & straight. I'm going to talk to a smith about what options I have for aftermarket alterations, cuz if I can't make this thing fit my hands I'll have to switch brands. I really like the stock, & I know it's a shooter and a great barrel. So that will be very disappointing, if I have to do that.

I swapped mine for an Anarchy Outdoors curved handle that worked great for a time. I managed to get it to shear in half during a match, but they were very responsive and are sending me a replacement.

email I received asking about the handle & knob. How did you get your handle off? It wasn't welded?

Where were you told that they are the same? The guy from Bergara said mine is welded. I’ll be taking it to a gunsmith soon. I’m not sure if it can be modified (the handle)
It was the same in my experience, those were the exact instructions I used to replace the bolt handle on my B14r. I have absoltely no idea why yours would be welded. If that's the case then definitely take it to a good gunsmith. If you can't get it replaced, it's really not that big of a deal you'll just need to practice a little harder.
