This last CNY gun show was somewhat expensive, first it was a CZ 457 At-One Varmint, then a tremendous deal on a Bergara BXR Carbon, plus, range bag ammo and the required sleazy and tawdry sausage sandwich with onions and peppers.

the Carbon is basically a carbon fiber stock and 16.5” carbon fiber wrapped bull barreled Ruger 10/22 clone. Roughly 5#, seems to have very good balance and adjustable LOP. The open/iron sights, for my league usage, should be delivered by Wednesday.

Shot one at the range a couple months ago that belonged to another shooter. Seemed like a solid unit...Especially for the price. I've got WAY more tied-up in my custom 10/22 than that, and it's similar.

I use a Mossberg tactical shot gun front sight that clamps to the bull barrel, the rear sight is a LPA peep sight that clamps to the top picatinney rail

This uses Ruger mags!?
Will this drop into chasis for the 10/22??
Yeah, it's pretty much a direct copy of a Ruger 10/22... But the Bergara stock that it comes in is pretty nice, especially for the price tag. I'd shoot it first, before planning on swapping it out...Unless you just want a chassis.

I have a magnum research with a carbon wrapped barrel. That’s pretty lite. Is the bxr a pencil barrel that’s wrapped ? I would think it would not be that accurate.

honestly dont even think its a carbon fiber wrapped barrel. Its just a super thin barrel with a carbon tube that slips over the top. I could be wrong though.

For the best accuracy, would you get the BxR steel over the carbon?
My custom Ruger 10/22 with a Valquartsen CF barrel (sleeved) just shot around a 1.5" 10-shot group at 100 yards Friday afternoon. And my Christensen Arms Ranger 22 w/ CF barrel (416r stainless w/ CF sleeve) has been shooting sub-1/2 MOA at 100 and just over 1/2 MOA at 200 yards. I didn't get any pics of the 10/22 group, but I'll shoot another one soon, and document it. But I do have pics fo the CAR 22 and groups if you want to checkout my thread?

I have the steel barreled version, and was a bit worried at first. Had some feeding issues and what not.

Switched to Ruger mags, took apart the gun and cleaned it up, some lube on all moving parts, and tried SK Standard Plus and SK Long Range Match. Both have been very impressive for my standards.

Both have been around 1/2-3/4 moa at 50yds, around 1moa at 100yds, and 10 shots at 200yds right around 4x4" spread (1x 10 shot group so far). Will be putting some more 100 and 200yd groups down this weekend. I wanna do the 50 shot 200yd test that @justin amateur started.

Once I figured out the mag placement, all of the cheap ammo fed just fine. The SK ammo fed great no matter what.

I’m going out in the morning to shoot mt Bergara BXR, against my Ruger 10/22, with a 16.5” Feddersen barrel, in a Magpul stock, with a BX trigger, using NoDak open/iron sights

Mine shot better using CCI HP mini-mags, than it did shooting CCI SV.
Mine are the total opposite. 😂 My 10/22 shot better with 1200+ FPS ammo (typically bulk-pack Federal 36gr copper-plated) for 19 years, when it wore an original 20" Butler Creek SSM (Stainless Steel Match) barrel that was all steel (still got that barrel because it shot so damn good). But now that it wears a Valquartsen CF sleeved barrel, it shoots better with CCI SV 1070 FPS. Same with my CAR22. That's what I have been using to shoot those insane groups out of it. Just bulk-pack bricks of CCI SV 1070.

I just can’t decide on the carbon or steel !!!!

and will this drop right into a KRG bravo!??

One other guy on here said its not a perfect fit for the bravo but very doable with a little elbow grease and a dremel. His looks great.

I don't think it really matters man, I have the steel and it shoots pretty damn good, better than any of my other 22's. I like the look of the Carbon more, but my local shop had the Steel version for $525 so I bought it.
