berger 210 vld hunting in 308

who has loaded this 210 berger in a 308 and results please

I loaded the 208 a max. It was slow but accurate at 100y. I think the people having the best results were using 2000mr and RL17. Something slower than normal, with a deep throated chamber so you can get more room in the case for powder with out jamming the bullet into the lands.

This may get more responses in the Reloading Section just above this section. Regardless, I've been pretty curious myself. Have some 185's, and 210's I've been thinking about trying just for shits n giggles, along with some 212 eld-x. It's a 5R MilSpec so I don't think the extra heavies are gonna enjoy it's twist, but it'll be interesting none the less. Good luck with that test.

Don't have a 308 but the 215 gr berger will shoot just as fast because of the bearing surface.

Berger's tech data states that the bearing surfaces are as follows:

210 VLD .540"
215 Hybrid .419"

Some 308s will not have the twist rate for these larger bullets. So run the numbers in a stability calc 1st.
