Looking for guys who are running this bullet and experience with it.

What is the bc you guys are using?
Kestrel doesn't have it in bullet profile yet so are you using the 245 eol? Or just custom g7 ect?

How easy is this bullet to tune I've heard a few guys say it's harder than the 220 which is a dream to get to shoot straight.

I shoot the 220 but thinking on trying some 245 in 300 norma improved.

I'm using the g7 bc. Ended up at .02 jump, no problems getting it tuned. Really like it, took it out to 2200 not long ago. Stocked up on them.

I did email AB about getting the custom curve in there.

This was 3 rifles and 4 shooters today in some stupid headwind that was switching and gusting, but the 245s did great out to 2230 yards. All 3 were shooting 86.7gr n570.

The 245s were still denting the 3/16" AR400 plate at 1535 yards!!!

In my new barrel I had to adjust the bc to .413 from .417. Still an awesome bullet but I will be double checking these numbers specially once it gets nicer out. Been shooting from 10 to 30 degrees wind blowing so hasn't been very nice.

I am currently knocking up a load for 245 LRHT using Retumbo.

Couldn’t find any info on the hide about this specific load, so when I’m done I will share here again in a follow up post.

    33” strait taper barrel , 8T
    What cartridge? I’m running 80.5gr Retumbo with the 245 LRHT in 300NM, 27” 1:8.
Avg 2890, ES usually 20 or less, and SD around 5 (10-12 shot strings).

I’m using lupua brass - I have a really nice load for the 230 OTMs which I’ve been shooting for about a year, now moving to the 245s.

I’m trying out a new school of thought, where increased neck tension is supposed to help with case bulging, so I’m running a 004 tension. That change plus not knowing where to start on powder charged meant I started at about 80.00gr

I found an excellent node in the mid 2800s , but I use this as my light gun in ELR - when using this MV in my kestrel and comparing to my 3030fps 230otm load, I can see that I’m not getting the best out of the 245.

I’m ideally looking to get close to 3000fps , but I will need to do a second ladder / pressure test with heavier charge weights.

    85.26gr is 2993fps in my wife’s 32” with Peterson brass and 215m

In expecting that this is going to be close to my data too.

I will report back on Wednesday.

    Probably do-able (or close, anyway). I was getting 3000 from 230s out of a 27" 1:8. You're running a 33", I believe.
Maybe try scrub that throat out. Sounds like what I experienced with a carbon ring. A norma can run much harder than that.
Yeah, I suspect that as well. It's past time to clean, so it's next on the list and I'll scope it first. I'm running 88.1gr in my 338NM pushing a 300gr Berger with no hint of pressure.
