I plan on trying them in a 9 twist 300 NM Improved. I can get 3050 fairly easily with 230s and a 28" barrel, so maybe 2950 with the 245s? These bullets should be a perfect match with RL33.

I got to the range the other day with the 245 Bergers in my 300 PRC, loaded them with R33/Fed 215M primers and started at 85grs and worked up to 86.5grs in .5gr increments , 3.720" coal

My rifle is a Kimber Montana 8400/ 26" #4 Contour Benchmark 1-9.5 twist barrel, I shot these with out the brake on as the Labradar doesn't like the side port brakes no matter where I put it !

Accuracy wasn't the best but Velocity was quite surprising as well as the ES was amazing with the R33, using a Labradar for velocities

85.0grs-2888/2888/2885
85.5grs-2900/2901/2901
86.0grs-2907/2905/error
86.5grs-2912/2915/2912

I also tried out the 230 A-Tips with the same loads and it was a bit more accurate but surprisingly the velocity was almost the same as the 245s

That’s awesome. I think mine just shipped. I’m shooting them out of a 30 Sherman magnum that shoots the 230 otms at 3000fps.

Have you tried H1000 yet?

I just worked off of Berger’s recommended powders for the245s which R33 was the one I had.

Ive tried the H1000 with 225gr ELDM, 76grs gave me 2900 with 215m primers and 2860 with CCI 200s. Accuracy was a touch better with the CCI200s

Figured I would post back with my findings. My rifle, my loads, yada, yada, you know the deal...

245 Berger
RP brass
85gr N570 2832 FPS es 11
Fed 215 Mag
Seated deeeeep 3.743" COAL. Ran them out to .010'' off and didn't gain any velocity or accuracy. Put a chassis on and to load to the mag length, ended up here. Put it back in the EH2 and just rolled with it.

ADG brass with the same specs gets about 20 FPS slower.

I think the PRC does it a little better and more effecient as I have a good bit of room left in the case, even seated this deep. These velocities are a little faster than what Berger sent me, but I am using less powder to get there.

Anyone try anything slower? RL 50/BMG???
