The $15 per hour minimum wage is BullShit. Flipping a hamburger is not worth it. In AZ, the state minimum wage went up 50%. The cost of living went up. My wages did not go up. So my buying power has gone down. It is just another way to squeeze out the middle class.
Volunteering was the way it was originally intended to work. It’s a far cry what it was supposed to be today. I agree, no politician should make a salary. If we could figure out how to do away with that, 95% if all the problems that come out of DC would evaporate over night because they’d all quit and move on. Then you might have real people that want to make real change volunteer and get some real shit done for their country.

One one side I want this $15/hr minimum wage to go through so most of these untrained/unskilled/uneducated leaches will end up out of a job and holefully learning a trade or go to school to better themselves. As @Jscb1b said, $15/hr for flipping a burger is simply stupid. McDonalds has proven they will work around some of that garbage.

I started my own business in 2001 I was kind of nervous telling the owner of the company I was working for at the time what my plans were. I thought he was going to be pissed at me for the time and money they had invested in me only for me to hit the road and try to do it on my own. To my surprise he wasn't mad at all he said "There are those that strive for more in life and then there are ditch diggers we need ditch diggers and there will always be ditch diggers I wish you all the best" BTW I don't look down on anyone digging a ditch I have done it and I still do it on occasion.........My point is you can't be just a ditch digger and expect to live the live style of the person that owns the company.

I own a plumbing company we do everything from changing a washer in a faucet to running the main sewer and water lines for new construction most of my business right now is new construction. I have had to turn down work lately because I don't have the manpower to take on anymore work.
They want $15/Hr snd they cant get the order right 50% of the time.

On my way to work, in the usual hurry. Stopped at Arby's. 1/2 pound RB combo, and order of onion rings, 12 bucks and change. I ordered the combo cause it's .30 more and the guy I'm relieving on shift loves them shitty curly fries.
Hand me my bag, heft it right, I make the mistake of not looking in the bag.
I get to work, you guessed it, no onion rings. I didn't look in the bag, I didn't smell onion rings. My fault.....or is it?
If I increase their pay to $15/hr, and my order increases to $16 instead of $12, are they gonna get my order right?
Maybe we should be more diligent about checking our orders....
Nah, I've got a better idea. Quit eating that shit. If their pay goes to $15 an hour, a LOT of folks will quit eating that shit.

There’s a reason minimum wage is so low. Some jobs don’t require much responsibility, effort, brainpower, creativity, management, math, communications, or other skills that are essential for business. Therefore raising min wage ultimately rewards employees at the cost of the public. Better idea- work your way up to a higher paying job like the rest of us.
What they don't understand is they can raise the minimum wage to $15/hr, but I don't think it will take long before $15/hr only buys what $7.25/hr buys now and then they are right back to where they are now economically. All raising the minimum wage will do is speed up inflation.
