I'm looking for a scope for my 300 BLK SBR build. This scope will be mostly for hunting and targets and I'm looking for something in the $400 or less range. I was intially looking at the Leupold 1.5-5x 20mm scope for $367 from Midway. Can anyone recommend something else for comparable money that might be better?

Thanks!

I'm on a cell phone so it's hard to post links but you can look at my recent posts and see the for sale thread that I had my Burris Tac30 for sale in. There is some stuff in there you might find useful including some reticle info for the 300Blk. I think it's a good scope for the price tag. It can be found between $250 used and around $300 new

I am in the exact position you are in. I am looking at the leupold vx hog for about 230 and the vx-r hog which is about 450. I have owned a number of leupolds and I pleased with them

Re: Best 1-4 (approx. mag.) scope for under $400

I am getting ready to buy a vortex viper pst 1-4 with the moa turrets and moa reticle for a 300blk sbr. It runs about 500 from most places. I believe it will be a great scope for shooting subs because you will have a lot of elevation to work with using the reticle or the turret.

Im using the Burris MTAC for 3 Gun, and for the money its is an exceptional buy IMO. Look at SportOptics, its where i got mine, and they offer exceptional pricing.

Great scope. Used ones occasionally pop up here and on eBay right around the $400 mark.

I have a Leatherwood CMR 1-4x that I'm quite pleased with. SWFA has them for $330 with a free Burris PEPR mount. If I were to redo that purchase, I probably would've bought a Vortex PST 1-4x, though.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with this one. The MOA reticle will be useful for switching between supersonic and subsonic loads, the Leupold only has a duplex.

Next question, what Butler Creek Flip-ups work for this scope? Looks by my calculations to be 14 or 16 eye and 2A or 2 Obj.?
