Read the OP. It SPECIFICALLY asks about 'the best 1911, get that <span style="font-size: 14pt">1911</span> for the money.

For just a little more, you can get a deal on a loaded SA 1911. I just scored a very nice one, 50 rnds fired, for 700.00
If this is a repeat, I apologise.

I have a Smith 1911PD (really nice pistol), an HK USPC V1 .45, Smith M&P .40, and my Springer loaded parkerised. If I'm out the door and can only grab one, it's a tough choice between the HK and the SA, but in the end, I know which one I could depend on most. (hint- not the HK)

Lol I spent way too much time in the General Discussion forums at ar15.com. There are plenty of 1911 vs Glock threads over there.

I have a Kimber Desert Warrior,and have put apprx 2000rnd with no failur . its a bit up from 600$ I know. but mabye a used one ?? Just my 2 cent

i would go with a springfield loaded mil spec for the kind of money you want to spend. if you can try seeing about a used Kimber. I own 3 and love them all.
