25.0 gr. Varget
OAL 2.255
2800 fps
I use all different kinds of brass and primers.

Load was shot out of a Rem LTR, .262 MOA was my best group.

its a 1 in 9 twist long range load

Sierra 69 MK with IMR8208XBR. 2900fps is pretty easy. Lapua brass, Wolf primers. Working with AA2520, 100yd accuracy is good, have not shot at distance yet.

For 8-twist or better:

Any brass.
CCI BR2's
24.5 RE15
80gr SMK jump or jam

For 9-twist:

Berger 73 LTB at mag length with a max load of either of the 4895's.

i'm shootin 69gr SMK with my 1X8twist bb.
maybe i should up the weight of the bullet, see if i
can tighten up my .5 moa groups.

Skinney, you can run the 75 AMAX in that 8 twist and im fairly certain you wont find to many more bullets that will be it in the 224 range.

thanks deadly, i primarily use varget with my 762 and 556 loads, what are you gettin for velocity when using the 75gr amax?

23.8gr of I-4064 gave .4's in my factory barreled Savage this weekend with the 75 Amax. First time shooting them, no chrony data, but it should be around 2800fps from the listed data.

Amax seem to like a jump around 10 thou from all the calibers I've shot them from, this was no different.

73gr Bergers for the 9twist.. And I'm shooting 80VLDs in my 8twist over 24 grains of varget, CCIbr win brass!

For you guys loading the 73 gr Berger VLD's, what COAL do you use? How much powder are you loading, and what kind of velocities are you getting?

I have used this load in 2 AR-15s and it works real well. Sub MOA in both. Both have 8" twist barrels.

77gr SMK
23.1 grains H4895
CCI standard primer

This gives around 2800fps in both rifles. Play around with the seating depth and you should be able to get sub MOA groups pretty easy.

The BC for the 77grain SMK is much better than what is listed in most manuals. If you plug in .410 BC (G1) you will be very close.

My Savage likes the 69 SMK's...its probably me but i just havent found that special load with the Amax's that really work comparable to the SMK's, I am also using Varget and CCI primers.
