Happy with the ELR, thinking I should have got the strap, but still happy with it. Definitely recommend.
Freight says the filler will be here on 6/4. If they are correct we should be able to get most everything shipped by 6/5!
Got my ELR, seems super well made, can’t wait to go shoot with it.

Yessir we appreciate it. Y’all flooded us on this last one and we burned through a lot of material. With shipping being hit or miss I can’t count on materials getting in as fast as they used to. Thanks for the patience. And if anyone else is waiting we expect to have pretty much everything out by wed/thurs depending on what time the post man shows up with the QDs.
For prone or bench shooting I have a homemade bag that was made to be nearly identical to the 3d ELR.
In matches I use a Wiebad mini fortune cookie for literally everything. I'm starting to like it more and more for a rear bag even on the bench.

I was convinced by this thread to order a ELR bag and got it today, now I have questions.
I've got 10 years experience using a Defensive Edge bag, that's my only experience. I got the ELR bag and notice its pretty darn full. With the DE bag it was probably 3/4 full, and it was about the size of a large soup can. When I needed more elevation I simply squeezed the bag a bit and held and I'd be on target.
With the new ELR bag I don't seem to be getting much elevation with a squeeze. Is this because it's new and needs worked in a bit? Am I using it wrong?
I'm not saying it's the bags fault, there wouldn't be so much positive about it if there was an issue, but I need a little education on how to properly use it.

Part of the beauty of this fill is that it doesn't move too easily. Settle your stock into it and make subtle adjustments with a squeeze.

But I just ordered an ELR and a Mini just to be able to try out both ... and support PU.
What we want to see is you aiming the rifle with your body rather than with the bag. So you are set up and the rifle is connected to you and pointing at the target. Then the bag is added and “slight” cheek pressure locks it in. So you aren’t using the bag to squeeze and aim you are aiming and then adding the bag. This is connecting the rifle to the ground through you rather than connecting the rifle to the ground through the bag, if that makes sense. If you need to raise the stock use your body position to do that and then use the bag to hold it still once you are on target.
What I do is first compress the stock into the bag with it on target, get in position and transfer 95% of the stock to my shoulder, make micro-adjustments of my body until I’m on target with a straight pull into my shoulder, then glue it in place with the bag. So the bag is there to make the reticle be still while 95% of my aim is coming from me.
A few guys have requested less fill which we can do for you no prob. We don’t want you to have to change the way you shoot to accommodate the bag. But you may want to give the above a shot first. There is a trade off on workability/adjustability when you make a bag more solid but that won’t matter if you are using your body to aim, assuming the bag is sized correctly for your set up. I'm going to give it a try before anything. I just wanted to make sure my range session was productive using the right technique. Your explanation is definitely different than how I shoot now. I currently get close with the body and bipod and then squeeze to get final adjustments on target.
For rough adjustments with the PU bags I just tilt the bag a bit.

And that works As long as you aren’t shooting something with recoil. I want the rifle to be an extension of me. I’m pulling straight into a relaxed shoulder and wherever the reticle is, that’s where I’m aiming. I’ll adjust my body until that straight pull into the shoulder has me on target. That is natural point of aim. I think a lot of guys throw that one out the window and are shooting more off of a “rest” made of a bipod and a bag. That’s fine and our bags work better than most for that but as soon as you have any recoil you are going to have problems staying on target. If the rifle is an extension of you you can control any recoil that is put in front of you.
I’ve been trying to get a video together explaining the difference in aiming with your body and aiming with the bag. Both work but aiming with the bag makes it harder to stay on target and nearly impossible to stay on target with any significant recoil. Give it a shot and we are happy to adjust you however you need!
Ordered the elr, the mini and 3D because of this thread. Can’t wait to try them out.

Here's a plug for PU's suppressor cover. I got one for my QB can and it is really well made. It's easy to put on and take off. The cord keeps it in place during recoil and it cuts down on the mirage coming off of the can.

We appreciate it. We spent a lot of time getting it right. People don’t realize how much easier it is with it being a sleeve rather than a wrap. You slide it on and drop the cord behind it and it’s done. I can put it on and take it off in 20 seconds. It’s a lot more labor to build it that way but we want it to be better than what’s out there.

But, after reading this thread, I need a PU bag. On a flat surface, with my bipod adjusted about as low as I can go and comfortably get behind the rifle, I need about 3 inches of compressed bag.
Can someone tell me which of the models would work the best? I'm leaning towards the 3D and adjusting the bipod up just a smidge higher to accommodate the bigger bag.

Are you sure you want to run the bipod as low as you can go? I thought that myself, and Frank's class / evaluation was that I and most people ran their bipods too low.
For me now the right size of bag is the standard TAB rear bag. I believe the newer PU ELR bags are similar as well. PU has a nice locking fill in it.
I'm not sure. But at the lowest setting of the bipod, my rear bags are much too low.
For general length bipods, Atlas and TBAC, I run with 2 clicks out. So my TAB/PU works now, but previously I had tried smaller bags since I ran my bipods at lowest setting. I'm 5'8 160.
I run bag riders and the ELR mini is perfect for me.
With out bag riders or standard stocks he ELR is really nice.
I have a 3D, it’s pretty big and I mainly use it for shooting off of objects and when hill shots.
Here is the mini with a SCAL on low.
If you’re that low the mini for sure. You definitely don’t want to be too low but IMO a lot of guys are too HIGH and on their elbows. My rule of thumb is dont let your rear bag dictate anything. My advice is that what determines your height is this....
Lay dead flat face down on the ground and pull up woth your back muscles to raise up enough to address the rifle. Don’t prop up on elbows and don’t lay on the rifle. Your core will press into the ground when you lift up. Where ever your shoulder is when you can comfortably lift yourself up and look straight ahead with your back muscles is your ideal prone height. Once you’re there pull the rifle in front of your face and into your shoulder. That’s your ideal height. Fit a bag semi-snugly under there and that’s your baseline. Then you adjust your bipod up or down to get on target.
When I say not on elbows I mean not enough weight to shrug your shoulders up. My elbows are out to widen my base but I can lift them both up at any time. If your too much on elbows you’ll prob have a high support shoulder and a low firing shoulder. If your too low you’ll be laying on top of the rifle and riding on top of it. You need to be high enough to have level shoulders and pull the rifle straight into the firing shoulder.
