Best All Around Supressor(titanium)

Looking for advice on the best titanium suppressor to run on my bolt gun and Semis. Went to a shop and handled a Sandman X which is very heavy feeling and also a Huxwrx Flow 762 TI. Saw a test online where the groups opened up on 308 semi with the Flow. Curious about BT Titanium can which is flow thru and free tax stamp.

Want a lightish can to hunt with and shoot groups. Will never burn it down with full auto or belt feds. Hardest for seen use will be some bill drills. None of my semis have adjustable gas blocks

I only have a huxwrx 6k flow can and it’s ok. It’s louder than any of my others but the amount of gas at the back is way less. I really like my rugged Alaskan 360 and I held one of their new titanium versions and I might buy it next!

TBAC Dominus or Magnus, Otter Creek Labs Hydrogen, or Dead Air’s Nomad Ti XC. Those are what I run on my hunting rifles and bolt guns.

You’re going to get a ton of different opinions. Suppressors sound different to everyone. You can have a can that meters well on Pew Science, but has characteristics or a tone you don’t like. As far as the ones I listed above, I like the tone / DB’s of my Dominus CB the best but all those cans sounds decent enough on a bolt gun and “hearing safe” in hunting conditions. For range sessions I still wear ear pro, too many years soaking up flash bangs and demo charges to risk any more hearing loss.

No need to run a flow through can on a bolt gun. These are optimized for gas guns for the most part.

Take a hard look at Abel’s Theorem for a crossover gasser/bolt can.

The POI shift out of a Theorem Short will be minimal and its a very light Ti can thats also as modular as you can get (cal specific endcaps, vented caps or breaks coming soon)

Id pick up a theorem and run a vented cap to lower the backpressure when running the gasser. Then screw in the closed cal specific cap for the bolt.

That way you don't commit to a hi flow can that doesnt do much for you on the long gun side.

All that while also getting high end aerospace grade machine work.

Take a look at Abel suppressors also. They offer some great suppressors at a competitive price. They are also releasing a brake for their Theorem line that can be attached to the suppressor. I talked to them on the phone and also via email several times, they are very responsive and helpful. After talking to them I just bought 2 Theorem’s and a Biscuit, and plan to buy more.

PTR Vent 1 has some of the best reviews I've seen when it comes to sound suppression and back pressure reduction. It's long but not very heavy at 12ozish.

Flow throughs almost always perform worse on bolt guns than standard suppressors. How much worse will depend on the can; how much that degraded performance matters is up to you.

Just my thoughts.

If it was primarily for a bolt gun, I do not know if I would be concerned with Flow design and would default to a Thunderbeast. They are just proven winners in terms of accuracy. If I was going to be shooting it off of a semi auto of some sort, I would absolutely pick a flow design. Some of the things to consider are 1) How they mount (I do not like carbon lock). 2) Anticipated schedule of fire, if it is heavy I would stay away from Titanium. 3) How does it make the rifle balance? I like the point of balance to be a couple of inches forward of the magazine well.

I own cans from Hux, Surefire, CGS, Deadair, Silencerco, KAC, Yankee Hill, Thunderbeast, and a few older pistol calibers. I tend to wear earpro with all of them and do not buy them to try and make the gun as quiet as possible. This is my bullshit rating of the virtues of the above suppressors.

Surefire=KAC durable like a tank, good at everything not great at anything.
Hux - really moves gas forward, best I have used so far
Thunderbeast - Best if accuracy is your chief concern
Yankeehill - really good value for a lower cost suppressor
Honorable Mention - The Otter Creek stuff is also very good on the less expensive side.

yeah I am very impressed with mine. it sounds a little different than my Nomad Ti (which I love) , but it's awesome on a bolt gun. I haven't shot it on a semi though but supposed to be a lot better for not getting gas in the face

I have one of the inconel versions of the B&T you are looking at and it works very well on bolt guns and semis. Have used it on my 6ARC AR and my .308 bolt gun. Not overly loud and the free tax stamp was nice. lol Length isn’t bad and in the same as most similar you would look at for your uses. My other two cans before this one are not flow through and do not work as well on my ARs. I think you are smart doing a flow through for a one size fits all. I was looking at the HuxWrx too but being cheap the free stamp won me over. Never really heard any bad reports on the HuxWrx so I would search around some more and not just take one online test as gospel.

Have you noticed any accuracy issues good or bad with the B&T? I know I’m trying to accomplish a lot with one can, but a compromise suppressor is still better than no suppressor

Nothing bad. My .308 actually tightened up when I put it on.

DDC Enticer S-Ti. End cap is same thread as Dead Air so you have some options there if you want something with less back pressure.

There aren’t any Dead Air end caps that will noticeably drop the backpressure, unless you maybe tried a .45 end cap, which would be loud as hell.
