Hey guys, I wanna mount my NF 4-16 F1 on my AR15 build and there is a shit ton of mounts out there. Which ones do you guys suggest? I wish I could find something similar to the ARC M10 ring mounts functionality but not sure thats possible... I already tried a set of ARC med rings but they are a little bit too low and i need the scope more forward as well, pretty much like all the AR mounts are made. What say ye?

Geissele and be done with it.

I have looked for the geissele mount in a 20 MOA 34mm online and can't find one anywhere.... Are these things non existent or what... I'll check out the Aadland mount as well....

You don't need the 20MOA mount for your setup unless you're looking to shoot well beyond the platforms capabilities, these scopes have a ton of travel. I ran mine on my DMR rifle with a Geissele 05-418 mount and never came close to using all of the available travel. I've got that mount for sale in the PX right now too, it won't work with the S&B 5-20US that I have on order.

I have never had a bad mount. Every one held scope properly. It comes down to budget and features.
One piece or two? Is weight an issue? Q/D or tool removal? Need level in mount? Cant? Does it need to be taticool or just hold the scope?

I have used with perfect satisfaction ADM, Spuhr, USO, NF, KAC, Badger and the outfit that makes the Titanium rings who's name escapes me now.

Spuhr is super high quality and ADM is a great value. All are very good mounts.

Is resale an issue? Spuhr seems to hold value well in the popular models.

    Good luck with your project.

Amazing to me that no one suggests a Warne mount. They are pretty much the go to mount in 3 gun, they have huge popularity there.

I have two of them on AR's, and if they can hold zero while I am tossing those rifles around in and out of dump boxes, then they deserve my business. Short of being in a war zone, no one is harder on a rifle than a 3 gunner.

Ya know, your right, I don't really need the 20Moa. Sometimes I just get used to buying stuff a certain way and get tunnel vision.... PM me about your mount, I'm still looking...

I used to recommend Warne mounts, but started seeing QC issues with them late last year. It is probably statistically insignificant, but to me it looked the quality of their work went down, so I stopped, especially when it comes to precision scopes. I personally saw two single piece Warne mounts that were machined wrong and chewed up the tube of a scope. It may have been an aberration, but that kind of stuff makes me wonder what sorts of an assymetric pressure they are putting on the tube.

Im thinking hard about the JP mount... My only concern is will it be extended enough? It's priced right and looks well made, like about everything that JP makes... Any experience with these?

I actually checked after I seen your post, they are on backorder also. I need the 34mm... I do like the looks of their mount as well, probably the best of all of them...

The Spuhr mounts are expensive, but give you a few more options with the extra mounting points on the mount itself. No shift in zero when mount is removed and reattached. The simple leveling wedge works very well.

If you decide on a Spuhr mount, I would advise that you buy a cantilever mount. You don't need a mount with a bubble level unless you are shooting at long distances. Also with an AR, your eyes will be so close to the rear of the mount that it will be hard to clearly focus on the bubble level.

I started with the 30mm model SP-3016 on a DDM4 with a Steiner T5Xi 1-5. But quickly found that the eye box was too tight, especially when shooting prone. I needed the scope positioned further forward. To accomplish this, I switched to the 30mm model SP-3026. The SP-3026 has a longer cantilever, but it is also 6mm lower, so you won't be able to use any backup sights.

Take a look at the QDP-4016 for the new quick release version.

    QDP-4046 quick release.

    Original SP-4016 with bubble level.

SP-4026 no bubble level, longer cantilever, 6mm lower.

I was looking at the SP-4616 in the Spuhr, I'm gonna do some calling around and see if I can get some shaved off... I've always been interested in them.

Had a Spuhr, $450+ if you can't find a deal (no thanks to you Mile High ) it just wasn't worth it. Next 34mm mount for my AR is a Badger with a bubble level of my choice.

looking at the Badger, it doesn't look like it gives you very much extension. I could be wrong though, having never had one in my hands or on a rifle...

I have the standard JP 34mm mount and like it a lot. Very well made, especially given the price. It would be better if it was extended more, but it works well for me.

I have JP on 3 AR's and have gotten along real well with them running NF scopes. Not one issue. However, I have a just picked up a factory 2nd Sphur QDP 4616 to mount a S&B PMII that I have had laying around from Mile High Shooting Supply for $350.00. JP mount will not work with a S&B due to the illumination nob.

Well, I finally settled on the Spuhr 4616.. Found one in the PX for a really good deal, now I just hope it gives me enough extension to get my eye relief right... It didn't come with the wedge for leveling, wonder if I could get Spuhr to send me one out? Thanks guys for all the suggestions...
