Guys, what are the top 3-5 books you would recommend for anyone wanting to get a good handle on all aspects of ballistics and long-distance shooting, and I would appreciate if you would include books that would serve as introductory "for dummies" and then stair step a person up to the more technical discussions.

Thanks!

Since I'm the first to respond I'll state the obvious and go with Bryan Litz. I keep both the "Accuracy and Precison" for LR and "Applied Ballistics" for LR handy for when I have a question or need to refresh on some of the science or theory

^ agreed. Anything by Litz is good. Let me know if you're interested. I have a brand new set of the latest applied ballistic books I won from a match recently and was planning on just throwing them on eBay as I already have a copy myself.

Interested, just sent you a PM about them.

Don't get me wrong - I like and own all of the Litz books. I consider them to be great info for LR shooters because they describe many of the physical phenomena clearly without digging deep into the physics and math.. But the thread title suggests you want to master the science of ballistics and for that, I'd recommend you add to the Litz library with something like Carlucci & Jacobson's book:

Another less pricey alternative is Robert McCoy's book:
