Rifle Scopes Best compact and light weight scope

I have two of those" TT315M and March. Couldn't be happier with them.

TT315 mostly lives on an accurate 6.5Grendel AR, while the March is on my hunting rifle.

ILya
I have a pair of TT315M, one on a 6CM for moderate range antelope and long range coyotes, one sitting in my safe waiting on a future light/short build.
I have a S&B PMII 5-20x50US on a 6.5SS hunting rifle
And a March F 3-24x52 on a lightweight .280AI hunting rifle.
Amazing optics, each have their place.

Lots of awesome in this thread?
To get back to the OP,
For me at least, light weight scopes aren’t 30oz +.
There are a number of great relatively compact scopes, but most of them are still heavy pigs ( including the NF 4-16 x 42 on my main hunting rifle).

For light (er) scopes it seems like you have to sacrifice something, usually durability and tracking.

Hopefully a scope manufacturer will show up next month at the Shot Show... With a 3-18x44 or 50 FFP, illuminated, zero stop, capped windage, low profile turrets, sub 24 oz with a kick ass reticle, that doesn't cost over $2500

If not, then I'm going to buy the March 3-24x42
I dont know what you mean by kickass reticle, but the Leupold MK6 is damn close. Illuminated versions push it over your cost range

I don’t disagree. Looks like a football bat on a 6lb all in 7mag build however.

im certain, and id agree. and i get people want some low weight stuff, im just pointing out that the 318i is not lightweight.

but im also pointing out i love it for many reasons, and like my prom date, ive chosen to ignore her weight problem.

Is any rifle scope really that much lighter than any other at least enough to make that much of a difference ? and If it only weighed 5 oz would you really want it ? kinda think the lightest thing on my rifle besides the individual rounds is the scope and Its extremely light compared to my target rifles the heaviest being 30lbs compared to the rem700 at only 9lbs if that .

caliber?
barrel length?
who did the stock work?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Here is my blog entry on the build. Mods, if linking is not allowed, please remove. I would have posted the build here on SH but I couldn't find the single shot forum :p :

Luepold Vx-6HD has those exact specs. I have one with the TMOA reticle. Can be had for just under $1600. Reticle choices my not meet your needs though..

-SWFA makes like a 8 oz 2-10 that I want to try.
-March is still my favorite lightweight high end option
-Steiner T5 3-15 is my current go to hunting scope. They can be had cheap if you wait around
-Burris new XTR3 3-18 I have been really impressed with other than the lack of illum, which once that comes out I will be selling my non illum and get that

I wish with others that there was a 15-20oz scope in the 3-15 zoom zoom range with 30mm and good turrets in the $750 range. That would be unicorn dust... Prob give too much up in reliability to do that tho...

Regards,
DT
I wish Leopold would offer their VX-3 4.5-14x 40 CDS SF in an illuminated mil dot Mil/Mil version like the 3-9x40 VX-R.

In other words,
a VX-R 4.5-14x40 SF Mil Dot.

I think that would check all the boxes mentioned.

just bought the NF SHV F1 4-14 Mil. Website says 30oz but I put it on my scale and it reads 28.3. I know it’s stil pretty close to 30oz but it seem rock solid like my other NF ATACR and is less than half the price.

Trijicon Accupoints are a nice lightweight hunting scope. Barrett Fieldcraft at 5.1 lbs with a 3-9 Accupoint at 13.4 oz makes a nice lightweight combo. Works great and the Tritium insert extends shooting times in low light.

Leupold Ultralights in 2-7 at 8 oz or 3-9 at 9 oz can really shave some weight. I love my 2-7 on a lightweight .22. You hardly notice you are carrying it.

I just ordered a US Optics ts12x with a 50% off cert. I will post when I stretch it out. I don’t usually buy Asian made optics but this fit the bill to replace some of my Leupold 3-9 compacts

There has been a couple scopes throughout the years that have far exceeded my exceptions, like the LRHS for instance which is a great FFP hunting scope, but not particularly light. One of the others is my Meostar R2 1.7-10x from Meopta. Right at 20 ounces it qualifies as light enough and the glass is outstanding. It is SFP w/ the BDC3 reticle, but I find it perfect for its role on this gun. Illuminated as well which is a bonus for my aging eyes at twilight.
