Best data book

Re: Best data book

Storm Tactical Data books are worth a look as well. They also have nearly all the NF reticles in custom pages should you have a want for it. My set has more than enough room for information for different sillouettes and field info, cold bore shots, zero's etc....... Send Mark a PM and they'll be glad to help. Not trying to take anything away from Jason's post as IDB's are reputable as well. Happy huntin

Re: Best data book

Yup Impact Data Books is the way to go. Excellent product with a great modular design and almost any target page you plan on shooting at.

Re: Best data book

If you can live with a coil bound book, best bang for the buck would be the Storm Tactical plain paper or 70LB paper books ($20-$25).

If you want the a 3 ring binder style book, our's are $30, and you can add replacement pages and organize the book to fit your needs.

When checking prices online, also look at ship cost. Ours is a $5 flat rate for a book or kit shipped in the US.

We also have the best bang for the buck on the full Data Book kits with Made in USA Cordura Nylon outer covers.

We are involved in this venture to help fellow shooters and snipers, this video will explain it a little more.

We are the official Data Book prvoder to AmericanSnipers.org, and our premium Rite in Rain Data Book kits are available directly from American Snipers

Enjoy your search for a book that will fit your needs.

Re: Best data book

Both Impact and Storm Tactical make a great product, and they're capable of being set up for your particular shooting styles. Really the best one out there is the one that you actually use. Someone keeping notes on blank paper is better off than someone with the nicest piece of kit out there that never does any post session data analysis or doesn't keep all the necessary data points for reference later.

As far as Impact Data Books is concerned, Tony knows what he's doing and has been passionate about data keeping for as long as I've known him, and that goes back to when we graduated from the same basic course. Later when we were TLs in the same platoon together he was already drawing up his own data pages that were much better than the ones we were using at the time, and I directly relate that to an improvement of our overall platoon's shooting performance. His experience is definitely reflected in his products and they're a valuable asset to any shooter.

Re: Best data book

Hey guys, first off this is my first time posting. I have reviewed many write ups and opinions on the forum and have found it very helpful.

I have been shooting precision long range for about a year now and have heard of 3-4 different books to use as a data book. As an engineer I like to have things a certain way and depend on reliable, repeatable information and easily recordable. This pushed me to impact data books. They allowed me to setup the book how I wanted, get rid of pages (that for me) would just be burning space. They have plenty of target pages and additions to the book like R.E.T.S. that help me lock in on my precision training. I have heard that a good data book lets you record the information you need, how you need it. So I guess a great data book not only lets you record but helps you train and that would have to be impact data books.
