I am looking for a LRF capable of TRULY ranging rocks, deer, elk at 1300ish. It will be used to range plates out to .... as far as possible also. Like the swaro, but they are never that cheap. What are your experiences? Thanks.

I haven't used the bushnell as of yet, but in my opinion in the field using the monarch, lecia, and laser guide, the laser guide is the only way to roll. I have heard mixed reviews on the bushnell stuff. Save up the extra money is my best opinion. Other than that, you might try to get a 1600 leica or give the bushnell stuff a try. I would be cautious on bushnell as there are reports their warranty isn't what they claim.

for under 500, bushnell is gonna be your mark....not as good glass as some of the others, but seemed to be getting above 1200 pretty consistently

on what? I can't get a leica 1200 to range an antelope past 750 yards unless the light is just right. There are so many inconsistencies in range finder reviews it is almost maddening. I had a nikon monarch, would range a highway sign at 1200+ all the time, and FAST, but in the real world the thing was worthless.. just sayin

My bushnell fusions have ranged trees out to 1800+ the elite 1600 is the same laser just in a monopod version. My money would go to nothing else in that range.
