Hey guys, need some opinion/advice on choosing the best chassis for me. First and foremost I do not want to skimp on quality and precision. With that being said, its mostly now about aesthetic designs. Here are the only requirements / examples:

Somewhat skeletonized (xlr carbon, AIAT, eberlestock for example)

Must be folding!

The ones I've found so far to be in the running are:
AIAT
eberlestock (never seen one or heard others talk about them in detail just yet)
XLR carbon
Ashbury precision ordnance saber forest
(possibly) mcmillian alias
drake and assc. cadex strikes

Am I missing any others worth looking at?

I would be all over the Cadex Lite Strike or the new AICS AX if I had budget to allow them. I like the fact that they fold to the right and lock closed.

I tell you what... keep looking at them and your opinions change over time.

Sometimes it comes down to your patience as to what has the shortest lead time.

In the end though looks will not help you if you forgo a feature that you need..... Make a list of the top 3 (You already have) then play the features off against each other until you have a winner.

I dig the Cadex Lite Strike chassis a lot or the Remington RACS (But you can't get that one, and if you can, its way overpriced). I have the PSR so I take that AI chassis out of the equation. The Manners MCS-TF Stock looks awesome as well.

Ghengis,
if allowed, I think that should be considered FIRST the ergonomics, SECOND the look, because you can work on the look in more ways, even bettering it by yourself, and the look will not substantially disturb the performance,anyway_ the ergonomics are entirely another matter, therefore the question coud be "the best fitting " to you, well before the best aesthetics_ my usual 2c._

Cugino Coyote is correct...same way you pick a wife.....or should pick a wife...

Make sure you look at the APO Supersport. The mod 1 comes in around 600 cheaper than the carbon fiber model. For some reason it's nowhere to be found on their website.

Here's a pic.

After they gave me such an insane deal on the PLRF-10 I figured I owe it to them to try out their chassis so I'll be ordering this one in OD green this week. Bad ass chassis.

Pretty sharp looking. Any idea how much it weighs?

Chassis are like strippers, you find a hot one, get a lap dance then want a different one.

well said, funny as shit, but true
OP, what works for me are the next guy, may not be close to what you are loo!king for.

get to some of the tactical matches around, look but dont touch,
find one that catch's your eye, find the owner,
1 thing i have found, most owner's of a fine rifle, will take to time to talk about there rigg's to great lenght
an maybe willing to let you slid in behine it for a test drive.

funny thing about gun guy's, be willing to let you handle there baby,
(rifle not wife or grilfriend). an smile why you are doing it.
good luck on you search
yo

I figured I'd get a list of all the chassis that might interest me that I was unaware of (eberlestock) for example.

I would then determine which stock would be right for me and of course see if I could get hands on.

HelI didn't know ashbury made a stock! Mind blown!

A few of my "lap dances".. Not shown is the Tac 21 (sold it) Axiom (once the springs were removed it was excellent!) and JB enterprises (sold), Out of all the BEST ergonomics are with the X-Ray, nothing else comes close. Next the XLR then the AICS. The others have all been sold because the feel was not there for me. Now this is MY list, user miles may vary and everyone is build different and has a different set of preferences. Nice thing about chassis is they are a lot like optics, you can always flip them for a slight loss so I look at my gear as dollars for entertainment value. For example, my McRees I bought used for $550, had if for 6 months and shot the crap out of it. Didn't like it as much as others and sold it for... $550 but I paid all shipping. Investment for my "entertainment" was about $60. Try doing that with strippers... I have it it never works. But for chassis and optics it does. So try em, flip em and just know there may be a slight loss each time but how much do you spend on other vices? To me it is worth it and I get to play around with some new cool shit every few weeks.

Just bought the MDT LSS chassis for my R700. I can't wait till it comes in. Paid 339.00 for it. It should be here Wednesday this week. I'll have pics up of it. Came in FDE. Ordered Black furniture for it. Can't wait to see it all together!

I havent had the opportunity to handle any of them, but I really like the looks of the KRG (both the W3 and x-ray) and AX.

I'll definitely have something riding in either of those.

The xray that shortbus painted in digicam looks amazing.

Question for y'all, since this will be for a 300wm, does a sturdy heavy chassis like an ax suit it better or a skeletonized light weight chassis work just fine?

The weird thing is my Aiax in 260 rem is hefty but no where near recoil scary.. I could pull the trigger with just a few fingers around the grip with full confidence that it won't jump back and hurt anyone.

You need to ask yourself what the rifle will be used for. I shoot both chassis rifles and more traditional fiberglass stocked rifles. For positional shooting, I gravitate towards fiberglass stocks, but chassis systems are fine for prone. Again, this is my preference, and with a 300WM I would prefer a little more weight and recoil reduction of a chassis.
