Best Micro Red Dot to put on a SIG x macro 365?

Worth even considering anything besides the Holosun 507k? Haven't looked at them in awhile - don't know if there is anything new.

I'm not worried about price. Want the best. Don't think they cost much.

Thanks!

I had problems with multiple 507K’s. Despite what the ‘just as gooders’ say they’re just a big of pieces of shit as everything else optic wise that comes out of China.

The RMSW has been better for me. I had an issue with one of the 4 that I have and Shield replaced it no questions asked and upgraded it to a glass edition free of charge without even asking. So product and CS experience has been far better with them than Holosun.

Haven't heard of RMSW.

Factory macro sights visible with the 507k?
Yes, the 507k mounts without any adapter plate, and yes the factor sights are visible.....just BARELY

Any other options other than holosun ? I see the shield above but sure wish someone would make a baby tank red dot with the rmsc footprint…. I love this 365 xmacro but the red dot options are not ideal….

RMRc?

On the shields, I ran them for a few years, liked almost everything about them - till the one time I had to light up the target at night with a weaponed-mounted light, dot washed out completely, no way to adjust brightness.

Other optics have had similar challenges, so are useful for certain applications. If the weapon has a light, it shouldn't have a shield - unless something big has changed in the last year or so...

I've had better luck than someone above on the holosuns.

I refuse to buy HS or any other China oem shooting products.

Choices for the p365 series pistols: Bushnell RXC200. Viridian RFX15. Shield RMSc or RMSw. Sig Romeo Zero.

If you want military rated water resistance and drop protection, Aimpoint and Trijicon are your only real options. Aimpoint doesn't make a micro yet, and the Trijicon RMRcc won't fit a p365 without an adapter plate.

I'd go RMRcc with an adapter plate, or try the above Bushnell RXC200. Or the Shield RMSc Glass edition, or the slightly wider and beefier RMSw.

The RMRcc with adapter plate makes it hilariously tall and awkward to shoot (and I shoot Open guns with hilariously tall optics anyway).

The Holosun is the only real option for a close emitter sight on the marker for the Macro, like it or not. American companies better step up their game cuz you can't keep, for example, an EPS Carry on the shelf long enough. Shelves full of Trijicon, Aimpoints, etc.

Exactly my issue with the RMRcc, I do not want to add a plate and have it 2ft tall…. Sucky options. My carry gun needs to be bomb proof, I guess for now it simply won’t have a red dot.

Wait for Aimpoint or Trijicon to make a micro optic with RMSc mount.

Or just use one of the thin, high quality adapter plates like shooters have been doing for years.

It's propaganda that shooters shouldn't use adapter plates and that all electro optics should always be mounted as low as possible.

I've got two holosuns one on a psa dagger and one on a pcc and have had no problems , only had them about 9 months but so far so good , especially like the shake awake feature, don't have to even think about if it's in or off , if they hold up for 5 or 6 years I'll be happy.

Reviving this thread. I am seriously annoyed that Trijicon hasn't made the RMRcc with the RMSc footprint yet. Any new non chinesium options since this thread started? Anyone REALLY put any of the Sig dots through their paces? I love the RMRcc on my G43 that I had milled but Im liking the Reflex more and more and want to start carrying it instead but want a solid dot on it first. Trij definitely needs to get their head out of their ass with almost everyone selling their carry guns with the RMSc footprint. The plate is ridiculous.

Im in the exact same boat. Cant decide. Needs better options from trijicon. Would love to see an aimpoint in this category

@treillw

I picked up a 365XL that was wearing an RMRcc on a plate. I had no problems & no complaints with it. I removed it when I picked up two of the 507K units.

Once again reviving this thread. I am in the same boat as others. Wanting a direct mount with no plate for a sig 365 XL. Any new options not listed above. Didn't know if there where any announcements at shot that I missed.

Two new options that are a direct fit for micro and sub compact pistols with the RMSc optic footprint. All have aluminum bodies, coated glass lens, side load battery, button changeable reticle or reticle options.

1) Sig Sauer now offers their new-ish Romeo Xcompact which is a direct fit for their p365. It has a low deck so you can keep your stock sights. Assembled in USA. It's an open emitter design like a Trijicon RMR/RMRcc.

2) Shield Sights AMSc enclosed emitter micro optic- shipping soon. Made in the United Kingdom

I was a big fan of the Shield RMS, till I figured out that putting a bright light on the gun washes out the red dot entirely. And since it is an auto-adjust brightness (no manual adjust), you can have dot OR light, but not both at the same time. Or you can get a pussy of a gun light, then the RMS works fine.

Now I run it on range guns ony - which is to say, I have a few in a drawer that probably will never again be mounted.

Yeah, you already told us in your comment #15. Hopefully Shield addressed that issue in their new AMSc enclosed optic. Regardless, I'll never buy a Holosun because it's a CCP funded Chinese company named Huanic just trying to steal another industry by using a western friendly label called Holosun.

Realistically though.... unless you have your dot turned way up (too bight) before hand, you're still going to wash it out with a bright light.

"Hold on a second will you while I turn my dot up, it's adjustable!" ;)

Thank you for the suggestions. One question thought. It looks like the Eotech has the delta point pro foot print so it would require a plate or milling the slide correct?

Sorry- I goofed. The EOTech doesn't have the RMSc footprint- my memory was off. o_O:)

Well, damn, you are not wrong. Old people forget stuff sometimes, you'll understand one day...

The Sig Romeo Zero Elite will fit with no adapter plates I’m pretty sure. This one sits on a G43X which takes the same footprints as the 365 macro

That has not been my experience, but eyes and opinions vary.

Maybe I run my red dots brighter than you would prefer; and I am good with that…

Plus one on the rmsc shield, fits like a glove on a 365 and mine has been flawless.
Since the launch of the "RMSc Glass Edition", most if not all of the Shield optics have upgraded electronics, so the washout issue may have been addressed.

Trijicon RMR and done. Theres newer shit with chink gimmicks. That diestmake them better.
It's hilarious how many shooters look at RDOs like fashion accessories- color and style of reticle, things like solar panels and motion activation.

In reality, when used properly an RDO's reticle will only be a translucent blur over top of the intended POI, and it all should happen so fast that it's just a flash sight picture.

Main concerns should be reliability, durability, and choosing a western company like Aimpoint, Trijicon, Sig, Leupold, Shield, Elcan, EOTech, so the wait for parts or warranty replacement doesn't take months like it does with that notorious asian brand.

I'm almost done participating in these discussions because it's mostly the ignorant leading the foolish.

Some of the comments here are beyond ridiculous and clearly made by people with zero or very limited experience with them.
  • Red dots make pistols harder to conceal. They make an insignificant difference. If your gun prints with one it will print without.
  • Red dots aren't faster inside X distance. Yes they are when trying to take a sighted shot regardless of the distance. If you're faster with irons then you don't know how to use a dot.
  • You don't need red dots on a self defense pistol because it's all close range anyway. Really? Tell that to the guy in Indiana who engaged an active shooter from 40 yards away while moving in. While he did it with irons, it would have been easier and faster with optics. Guaranteed.
Whatever.........

Doesn’t Scott Jedlinski dislike Shield for some reason?
He seems to really like Holosun, Aimpoint, trijicon.

He trains a lot of guys specifically with red dots, so probably knows what’s working and what isn’t.

Look through them before you buy. I went with the EPS Carry over the 407/507K. It was a lot clearer to my eyes. I liked it better than the Trijicon as well.

Based on my experience, I think the Holosun optics are perfectly serviceable for EDC use. I’ve had a 407K on my 365XL ever since they came out in 2020 or 2021. Other than changing the battery once a year, it’s been problem free and I carry this gun a lot and have shot it a fair amount. I went with the 407K bc of the simple 6MOA dot (majority of my red dots are 5-6.5MOA). My eye/brain doesn’t like the 2MOA dot w/ 32MOA circle reticle that the 5XX series dots come with, but YMMV.

If I had to do it over again, I’d probably consider the EPS Carry for the 365-line for the closed emitter to avoid belly button lint (and other crud) from falling into the emitter housing, or the Sig Romeo X looks interesting enough to give a try. I would avoid the Sig Romeo Zero like the clap, dumb button design, cheap ass plastic window, and short battery life. I ran one on my 365 for about 5 mins bc it came on the market before the HS K-series did, and that was a waste of money. But for now the 407K is working for me, so I don’t have any plans to change it up.

Personally I don’t GAF about where it’s made, I only care that it works.

It’s a pipe dream, but I wish all the red dot manufacturers would get their shit together and agree on a standard footprint (maybe two, one for fullsize/compact guns and one for sub-compact/narrow slides). FFS, Sig uses something like 2-3 different footprints across it’s entire line up of pistol red dots, maybe 4. I do like that Trijicon and HS share a footprint, as a result the majority of my red dots are Trij/HS so I can interchange dots if one goes down.

And while I’m on my soap box, I prefer direct mill. Not only does it sit the optic lower, it’s one less set of screws that can fail.
