I’ve never carried OWB, but I’m thinking about picking up a holster for a full size polymer pistol for when I have a jacket or untucked shirt. Wondering if anyone has found model(s) that carry well and don’t print like crazy. I have an IWB holster for my Shield, but don’t really want to try IWB with my PPQ.

    Thanks!

I like Garret Industries Silent Thunder. I think it may be called the Ranger now.

I have no issue carrying a full or Commander sized 1911 in one and in 10 y AR's no one has asked "Is that a gun or are you just happy to see me?"

Very comfortable, not designed to completely tuck it in to your body but it rides comfortable and conceals well.

Got one coming this week for a S&W 27-2, I don't think that cannon can be concealed but the Silent Thunder s a good open carry option also.

I have a Bianchi that I carry a 1911 in that does a pretty good job of concealing and minimal imprinting considering the size of the pistol.
With a compact I'm sure this style would be far more effective.

I’m running a Galco Combat Master with my G43X, it does pretty well. For my 1911 I have a Jason Winnie pancake that is really nice. I usually carry the G43X though as it’s shorter and lighter.

The new Garrett Industry Silent Thunder for my 27-2......

    A 27-2 is not a CCW weapon.

But that will be a great piece of Kydex for field wear. Thinking I'll buy a second one in Coyote with an RTI wheel adaptor and be able to use the 27-2 on my training rig.....

That's a GI for a full size 1911. I've carried that holster with standard belt loops and a railed 1911 concealed.

It's impossible to list a "best". Holsters, as you should already know, are a very personal thing.

I prefer leather for IWB and kydex for OWB. My favorite kydex is from KT-Mech. They conceal extremely well and their moderate 10 degree fwd cant for the pistol makes the draw very natural unlike holsters that have extreme 20 - 25 degrees of fwd cant.
