I'm going to order a NF Scope and was just about to order it from Optic Planet, but then started reading a bunch of negative reviews. They have a really good deal with free shipping and no tax, but now i'm not sure if i should order a 3K scope from them? Any information on a good place to buy would be appreciated.

Sport Optics, CS Tactical, and Eurooptic have all been great to me. I’ve never ordered from Optics Planet, so can’t comment on them. I’ve ordered NF from Sport Optics, a DT and various things from EO, and recently a Tangent Theta from CS. I’d say they all three are good to go. Just give them a call and decide who you want to go with.

Thank you for the responses. i think i'm just a little nervous ordering such an expensive optic. i would buy it from a local shop, but $180 is a lot to save on taxes. I did read a lot of good reviews from Optic Planet, but then i hit a stretch of about a dozen negative reviews. i'm glad to hear you guys had good luck with them. I'm not trying to bash them in any way. i just want to buy with confidence.

Optics Planet will sell stuff that they don’t have in stock, but might have in stock in a week, or a month, or 6 months...
Call -Sport Optics, CS Tactical, Eurooptics. They will give you a price better than MAP, and give you an honest answer as to when they can ship.
Thanks, i will call them first thing Monday. Optics Planet's web site says they are in stock, but i tried to call to make sure and they where closed for the day. Some of the reviews said exactly what you said.

Sport optics has always been very good to me. I haven’t purchased from CS as they just sold the last atacr I wanted right before I called, but their customer service seemed great. Very helpful and knowledgeable.

Previously gotten scopes, rifle cases and various other things from Optics Planet. Things seem to go well so long as you confirm via phone, prior to ordering, they actually have the item(s) in stock .

Returned an item that was not as described/priced on website, and Optics Planet immediately offered to cover return shipping and gave option of either charging my credit card and sending the replacement right away, or waiting until returned item was received and credit was processed before sending replacement. The correct item was subsequently received to my complete satisfaction.

I had the scope in my hands this morning at Cabelas. I told them i could buy the same scope on line for the same price, but i didn't have to pay sales tax on it and tried to negotiate the price with them, but they weren't having any part of it...lol I thought it was worth a try.

I ordered a DMR2 from them for a really great price and had the optic in 4 days. Maybe I got lucky?

You did. I got a good deal but mine took over a month from 'in stock.'

Exactly. I also waited 2 months on a Spuhr from OP, although again, at a decent price.
If in doubt or need something by a given time, I'd call, as they've admitted their website stock tracking is far from being up to date/correct, or call a Hide vendor.

Sport Optics has excellent customer service. I bought a high dollar scope from them that had a piece of debris in it and called them. They had a return shipping label emailed to me before I even got off the phone and once it arrived they second day aired me a new scope scope same day.

Optics Planet has gone downhill in the last year or two, in my opinion. So much of their inventory is actually drop-shipped, so you never know who is shipping and from where. That said, they have some good pricing, and a full refund if you are not happy. If you are okay shopping online, and do not need customer support, and are only looking for the lowest price, they are okay.

Just one guy's thought.

Kind of surprised that no one's mentioned SWFA. I've bought a bunch of scopes from them and never had any problems. Longest wait was for a U.S. Optic scope, but they showed it as backordered when I bought it. Took about 3 months for it to be delivered. On at least one occasion I took advantage of their price match policy. Was able to find same scope somewhere else for a few $ cheaper. My memory is that they not only matched the price, but gave me an additional 10% off.

Also, sell their own brand of Supersniper scopes. Stupid name but a very good value for the money.

Finally, they usually have two big sales a year - one on Black Friday/Cyber Monday and the other on April 15th. Just something to keep in mind.

Just saw this post and I want to thank you for all the positive accolades. We do our best to help our customer's find the best option that will work for them and to provide the best customer service as possible. To the OP, what scope or scopes were you looking for at the moment?

CS Tactical, Eurooptic and Mile High Shooting are all Hide Vendors and if given the opportunity will most likely beat prices from Optics Planet and you get superior customer service, I would highly recommend you contact the Hide Vendors before you send your money elsewhere.

I really appreciate all of the replies. I ended up calling Optics Planet Monday morning and they were very pleasant and nice to talk to. They told me they did have the scope I wanted in stock and would ship the same day, so I did order from them. The tracking information says I should have it tomorrow, so I couldn’t ask for better service than that. Hopefully it does in fact come tomorrow.
I’m new to the forum, but should have known to check with forum vendors. I sincerely apologize for not doing that. I won’t let that happen again, I’ll check with them before I purchase again.
The wealth of information on this Forum is amazing.
Thank you again.

Optics Planet is fine if you call them, but they are known for selling items online as "in stock" that aren't actually in stock and then holding your entire order for weeks/months until everything is in stock.

I second the recommendation above for SWFA. They're fantastic to work with.

I've ordered three Scopes from them the last year and had no problems but I do ask if they have it in stock first

You have to call to make sure they one in hand ready to ship.............................with that said I have had great experience with euro-optic

SportOptics or EuroOptics. Both are top notch.
Sport Optics has been my go to for a while. I have always wanted to give CS Tactical a try, but the sales tax kills it for me. Optics Planet is ok, but I have always walked away like I have dealt with a used car salesman. Ymmv.

I would call Sport Optics, but wherever you buy from you can almost always get a better deal on the phone then ordering straight from their website. Manufacturers limit what they can advertise prices, but they can't set the actual sales price.

Euro Optic. Not only do they have the best pricing (they will match ANYBODY's price), they also have great customer service and will continue to give customer service even after the sale. If you have an issue with something due to factory defect and the manufacturer gives you problems (plenty do), they will go up to bat for you to get it resolved. That's worth so much more than than saving a buck.

Isn't Sport Optics a company that is owned by EuroOptics?

Had a good experience with Mile High, and got good info from Liberty Optics previously.
Contacted CS Tactical recently and while I wound up finding a used option I couldn't pass up, Mike gave solid advice including where option A wasn't simply the most expensive. Would/will do business with again.

Hey gents just wanted to drop a quick thank you to everyone that has mentioned SportOptics and our customer service.

There are a lot of great vendors on here and can't go wrong with anyone listed. Support your hide vendors! Buying local is great, hell we have a local store front. At the same time I don't knock a local guy that buys from Euro if he wants to save on tax. Nature of the beast. If your local guy wants to compete he'll match what the web guys are doing.

For us its all about the personal connections and making friends in the indusrty. Yeah we want to sell a ton of scopes but we also want to have fun doing it. You can always pick up the phone or shoot me a DM for anything liseted on SportOptics/InterstateGuns and we'll get you squared away!
