Best practical DIY civilian sniper?

This guy is about to get torched... Getting my popcorn!

I use a DT SRS. Love changing barrels out so easy. And it is so compact. It's one hell of a sniper rifle lol
I agree. I have both and the DT is the better barrel system. Less poi shift from barrel to barrel and a better way to change barrels.

But when the aliens come I’m taking the AI. It’s more reliable.

Don't see the purpose of the speed to change out barrels quickly, I don't think I would what to disassemble my rifle on the battlefield to switch calibers. In my living room " base camp" for us civilians is a much different scenario. I can see changing calibers to shoot less expensive rounds for target shooting. In a sniper role I would want the largest caliber possible wether the target is at 2000 yds or 10 feet in front of me.
Yeah but with a desert tech when we have to bug out cause of teotwawki. Or zombies. You can have a 223, 6.5, 308 and 338 barrel with you and scavenge for ammo.

Same with snippers. They can use delinked MG ammo when they run out of 338 in durkastan

Valid point of running out of ammo makes the point for multi caliber barrels in the field.

As a civilian this would mean you can save a trip to Walmart.

Thanks for all the reply guys and yes I expected the roasting, this was just to put up a case for new shooters, its hard to best a AI AT, you can literally have 2 barrels at home along with the one on your rifle and literally never take it into the gunsmith in your lifetime, for a new shooter that's amazing I feel! A practical DIY self sufficient rifle. I wish the SAKO TRG was the same but you have to send that to the gunsmith and its the waiting that kills me as I have to shoot once a week or else I cant live :)

If you are patient, you can find a used AT for $3K, or a used AI/AE MK3 for just over 2K. The AE will use the same barrels, you need a barrel vise and action wrench to switch them out, another $250. Buy a folder. The PX has lightly used barrels.

There is no way to answer the OPs question without seeing pictures of him in his full battle rattle.

Ehh, how much are you wanting for it? Probably more than I want it for but never hurts to ask.
I'll start by offering the A1 chassis at $2,700. Thinking strongly about switching to a traditional rifle. Love my A1 but have a hankering for something new.

My preferred weapon for capturing hookers.

1. I'd like more information on this... Where to buy, good hunting grounds, tactics, the legality of using something like this since hooking is illegal in most places (kinda like a public service), etc.

2. New guy's first post has SOMEHOW turned into a completely legit 'For Sale' thread, haha!

3. '... I have to shoot once a week or else I can't live' too... Literally almost died a couple weeks back due to my condition, appreciate all your prayers guys.

That's why you need more than 1 rifle. Hell, more than 10... actually, let's make that 100. Yeah, 100+ gets you in the correct zone for being a sniper.

funny part is...

if most kids/trolls would come out and ask a strait forward question like:

"i like playing army/airsoft with my friends but i dont know shit about it, can someone tell me what really cool tan or black rifle i would have/want"

more than a few of us would chime in and give some quick advice etc.

at least i would

Given the OPs user name, I’m wondering if he is affiliated with or a follower of Rex Defense. The user name is also the title of Rex’s shooting instructional series on YouTube. I believe Frank also attended a recent Rex Defence class where it was revealed the students are subjected to live fire of sorts, which was roundly and justifiably criticized.

Perhaps @Sniper101 will chime in to confirm or deny...
