I'm mounting a LRHS on a 700 based 6.5 4s rifle. What is the best way to get the scope mounted as low as possible, without bolt/ocular conflict? I like the idea of the extra low talleys, but am open to other options.
I went with a set of TPS TSR Super Low rings on a Tenaloy 20 MOA base to get my LRHS as low as possible on my M700 in a Manners T3 stock. Would still benefit from a stock pack, just haven't gotten around to buying & attaching one yet.
The Seekins .82" would be my pick, I realize they are not the lowest available but I am impressed with the design and quality of their rings.
I would choose a better design and higher quality over a miniscule difference in height every time but that's just my opinion.
I had a R700 in 7RM w/ a Sig Tango 4 mounted with the Talley base/rings on it a few hunting seasons ago and I was nervous about them holding zero but they did.
I did bash my knuckles a few times though ?.
Not sure what to do to help with that other than mounting higher or having less bolt throw.
After I sold the Remington, my aim hunting rifle is a Tikka in 7RM and I never hit my knuckles on my scope anymore.
