Looking for a scope for my new pof 308 20 inch barrel. Looking for a first focal plane. And power adjustable up to the twenties. And what kind of ring or mount for it

If you can spend say 1800 you may be able to find a deal on a used Nightforce F1 or Vortex Razor HD. </div></div>

What do you think about the IOR 3.5-18x50 ffp MRAD?

The most awesome scope known to man! Thats what I think.

+1 for the HDMR's. I love mine and would put it against anything else in it's price point.

There are some folks that have had some but as i've seen here the customer service has been pretty solid so they're good to go by me

For a FFP with the magnification range you want on a $1500 budget...the best bang for your buck will be the SWFA 5-20x. You decide whether you want illumination or not and if you buy from the For Sale forums here on the Hide, you can have either and still have enough money for your mount.

Speaking of which...I personally would opt for the Badger 22MOA riser rail and a set of Badger rings (height will depend on which handguard/rail you have in order for the bell to clear the rail). I'd skip the QD stuff unless you just need it for some reason.

Well, I had a 3-18x42 and I loved it except for the shitty small eyebox. The new models look like they have that fixed though. I would bet on it being a solid (if heavy) scope.

Personally I'd pick the 4-16 over it simply because it is cheaper, has similar amount of adjustment, 30mm tube (easier to find rings/mounts) and a little less weight.

Or, up your budget a bit and find a used Premier/Kahles/maybe a Steiner.

Whatever you do if you go IOR...go Libertyoptics for it.

The PST, DMR or SS fit that budget pretty good. As far as mounts if you want a canted mount that can work on an AR flat top I have only found 4 that will clear a 50mm objective if you get a scope with a 30mm tube. Spuhr cantelevered for $450, NF unimount for $250, the aadmount for$250, or some cheap one I can't remember the name of for $150 at midway. I like the lower height of the NF, I like the beefy design of the spuhr. I wish they had a 30mm spuhr non-cantelevered 20 MOA with at least 1.3 inch height. Would work perfect on the used NF F1 I'm gonna find to fit that same budget

For $1500, the best bet is either a SS 5-20x50 or HDMR. Neither are big scopes and would fit well on an AR. Those are really the two best options and you can't go wrong with either scope.

+1

Just recently got one of these for my 20" 700 LTR in .308. It's a nice match for the rifle. I like the reticle, fit and finish, optical quality and it seems to shoot great. I still need to grow into the damn thing, actually.

I have a Premier 5-25 and also a SWFA 5-20 SS in mounts on my 16" POF 308 that I switch out depending on what type of shooting I am doing.

Unless you are doing some type of run and gun tactical shooting you will want more mag than just 8x
