Maggie’s Best shot with a 1911 ever.

It certainly didn't appear the plane, "Headed straight down, crashing after the stall". It was relatively intact, and the wreckage appeared, at least from the photos displayed, to be survivable. If it had nosed straight in from that altitude, there would have been nothing recognizable. Much like the Payne Stewart Lear Jet crash after it ran out of fuel. There was nothing left but a smoking hole in the ground. I would assume the pilot had some control input after he was shot. It was reported his body was found away from the wreckage. Which could have led to his death if he was thrown from the plane upon attempting some type of controlled crash landing.

I recall as kids we stumbled across a silhouette course of fire at the range

we asked to shoot and they welcomed us...

4" model 19 was frowned upon as to short
the 8 3/8" model 29'was ok

we shot out to 200 meters with Irons....

we we did not know that was to far to shoot with a stock revolver and iron sights...

when I look at chicldhood shooting, I am amazed by an adult standard.

we tried it all and a lot worked.

As an adult, I forget that you can point at 100 with a G19

not sure I'll ever shoot from a parachute.... but who knows...
