Hey guys, I’m looking for the best quality spotting scope with a Mil based reticle under $2k. I would prefer to be around $1.5k.

From what I can tell, the Mark 4 seems to fit the bill but can’t find much else around this price range.

Anything else out there I should be considering? Anything coming out in the near future I should be holding out for?

This is the minox md80zr the first image was 600meter at 20x and 60x, the second was 5800meter at 20x and 60x....

Vortex is coming out with a ranging reticle eyepiece for the new Razor HD spotting scopes. It'd be upper end of your budget once you add the reticle, but my vote would be Razor HD with the new ranging eyepiece when it's released.

If it is like their first ranging eyepiece, it will be a fixed 30x....... As is the new Burriis (which I believe will also fit the fist gen Vortex and the Swaro's).

subtensions will be different.......but it will 'fit'

^^^^ This. The eyepiece fits but a mil is no longer a mil. That's why they say it is only for the 27-60. Same for the gen 1 razors. The vortex reticle is awesome though. Off set L shape so it doesn't impede trace spotting. If you go with a Mk4 I prefer the inverted H32 reticle for the same reason.

I bought a used Mark 4 with the TMR last year with a manfrotto tripod for 1k off ebay. Awesome spotting scope due to the light weight and compact size and the glass is awesome. I was looking at razor’s and the Cronus before, but they are just heavy!

Thanks guys, I ended up buying the Leopold Mark 4. surprisingly, there are not many YouTube videos on the unit for how popular they seem to be. I am upgrading from a Konuspot to the Mark 4 so I am expecting much better glass but I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much in case it doesn't blow me away when I look through it.
